Use in my buisness daily
As a professional farrier for over 30 years, I have tried alot of products. Horseshoers Secret does a good job for the price. I have been using it daily for many years.

Perfect sealant and HAS NO ODOR
I have a Paint horse whose hooves are two colors - light and dark. I'd heard that light colored hooves crack and chip easily - which I've discovered personally; seems to happen often. The last time the farrier was out, she cut and filed away a huge chip, that reappearred TWO DAYS later. Deep enough to warrant a cease in our work schedule. I tried a few other sealants and because of the smell, he would dance and walk away rather than be his normal cooperative self. So, I tried this sealant. It's clear with no odor. I can apply this to his hooves while he eats and he doesn't disagree with me while I do it. Also, it dries quickly and lasts a few days. Since I've started using it, he hasn't developed any other cracks. Works great, good price and NO ODOR.

Sealers are sealers
What sold me is the price. I normaly use shield sealer because of the price break on a 32oz bottle. I found I can get a new bottle every 7.5 ozand save $$. I allways look for the best deal !Thanks DMc

Great product, but I didn't like the sponge applic
My farrier said my horse's hooves have improved since using this product. I try to put it on religiously. The only thing I don't like about the product is the applicator. I feel a brush would be easier to put it on with. The sponge causes the sealant to get on the rim of the bottle when you put the cap on/off, making it hard to open the bottle the next time you go to use it.

Best Sealant for the price!
My horses have had problem feet because they cross a creek in the pasture...My farrier told me to get a sealant that blocks moisture and keeps hooves dry so I got Horseshoer's Secret and after just 4 weeks we were both impressed how much the feet improved! Great product!

Best product ever for sealing the hoof if the horses' hooves are exposed to alot of rain/mud in their paddocks. I don't use it year round, but it works great when I need it!

Is this effective in high moisture areas and mud or does it wear off quickly?

BEST ANSWER: My farm does not have a serious mud problem. Usually hooves only. We do have a small spring however. My filly' s feet were crumbley. I have never owned a horse with hooves that looked like granhan cracker crumbs when the farrier would trim here. My faster attributed to the wet in the pastures then dry at night in her stall. He suggested it and had very good things to say about it. Start with clean and dry hooves. Paint hoof to within 1/2 to 1 inch of hairline. Only takes a few minutes to dry. I did this twice a week for 6 months... now only sporadically . Her hooves are great now . No more problems. As far as longevity every good product I have used over the past 40 years is not going to stand up to constant muddy conditions. You have to keep on top of it at least checking hooves a minimum of 2 times a week. I do think this sealant is a good product. I also use it periodically on my other 3 horses.
