Product Summary:

HorseTech® Buggzo!®

Horse Tech® took their clients' requests for a pelleted source of garlic and vinegar. After noticing some of the products in this category were unappealing, they went ahead and made one for you. They named this product Buggzo!®, a convenient and delicious alternative to help keep bugs away!

  • Easy-to-use pelleted product
  • Combined two types of garlic and a unique dry, pH buffered apple cider vinegar, thiamine, diatomaceous earth, brewer’s yeast, B-complex vitamins and grape seed extract

Recommended Use:

Initial Introduction: Provide to mature horses weighing 1,000 lb. at the rate of 1 oz. to 2 oz. daily. Reduce daily servings proportionately, based on weight, for lighter breeds and ponies. Continue for a period of 2-4 weeks.

Maintenance: The standard maintenance dose for a 1,100 lb. horse is a 1 oz. serving. Larger breeds or a heavy insect population may require the use of an increased maintenance dose of up to 2 oz. per day. Provide 1/2 oz. to 1 oz. daily for ponies, smaller breeds, or where insect populations allow for lower usage rates.

The 48cc scoop that is enclosed in your product package will hold approximately one ounce by weight when slightly rounded. One slightly rounded 48cc scoop equals approximately one ounce.

Giving it a try to see if it helps with flys
Penny on May 6, 2017
I have used this product for 3 years and I have found it to be very effective against ticks. I live in a very brushy area of eastern Oklahoma that is tick heaven.

I,ve heard it works well but haven't actually tried it yet.

We distribute fly predators in the summer. Will the diatomaceous earth in the Buggzo affect our fly predators adversely?
A shopper on Mar 20, 2016
Best Answer: We have done the fly predators for years in conjunction with a neighboring ranch. When the neighbors sold and the new owners didn't continue we saw an up rise so thought we would add buggzo. Your question is one that we never thought of, but it seemed to work. We were very happy with the way the season went. Want to know 100% ask your vet?

Can I use this for my dogs?
A shopper on Sep 9, 2014
Best Answer: I do just that I only use 1/4 scoop
I checked with my vet
Much garlic etc will give them indigestion etc
I would ask you vet first like I did as they know your dog better physically it's natural
It saves on repellent but I still use heart guard etc for heart worm ticks eyc
Never allow any vet to give any animal a Lyme disease vaccine ever!
It can make them a cripple and have to be put down
I lived in pa and saw this too many times
It's true and awful no matter what they tell you don't ever believe it
It's not safe
We both have end stage Lyme ourself
Horrible way to live

Is this product effective as a gnat repellent?
A shopper on Mar 12, 2016
Best Answer: I live in the PNW. I had trouble with bugs near his sheath, they would stick to him and were sucking blood but weren't mosquitoes. Tried this and my horse has never had trouble with any bugs/gnats/flies again. I only use it in the summer.

Would it hurt to add extra Diatomaceous earth to horses feed if I am feeding Buggzo?
Penny on Apr 11, 2017
Best Answer: I would personally recommend adding an additional small bucket Wendals Herbs Garlic Granules. We have been using Buggzo for several years and Wendals with great success. We give each horse the recommended scoop of Buggzo and Garlic Granules twice every day. The amount of diatomaceous earth contained in the Buggzo is perfect to ensure no fly larvae hatch in the manure, while the extra garlic makes our horses "unappetizing" to any mosquitoes or other biting critters, and is very good for their health. I hope this helps :-)

Can buggzo be used on donkeys?
A shopper on May 19, 2017
Best Answer: Yes. My horse is insulin resistant, and I've learned that there is a similar diet consideration for donkeys as well. Ask your vet if you're still uncertain. I've found this supplement to be very effective. I've tried 'reverse engineering' the basic ingredients, but have not done it as cost and result effectively as what we've experienced with Bugzoo. I'd recommend it for people too, if it was USDA/FDA approved.
