Product Summary:

Ivermectin Single Dose Paste Horse Wormer
Oral ivermectin paste for broad-spectrum control of parasites and worms.
  • Generic 1.87% ivermectin paste wormer for horses
  • Removes worms and bots with a single dose
  • Easy-to-dose syringe delivers the exact amount of ivermectin for horses

Ivermectin paste wormer is FOR ORAL USE IN HORSES ONLY!

Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment, and the control of parasitism. Provides effective treatment and control of the following parasites in horses: small strongyles, large strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, large-mouth stomach worms, bots, lungworms, summer sores, and intestinal threadworms.

Syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1,250 lb. horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per lb. (200 mcg/kg) body weight.

(1) While holding plunger, turn the knurled ring on the plunger ¼ turn to the left and slide it so the side nearest the barrel is at the prescribed weight marking. (2) Lock the ring in place by making a ¼ turn to the right. (3) Make sure the horse's mouth contains no feed. (4) Remove the cover from the top of the syringe. (5) Insert the syringe tip into the horse's mouth at the space between the teeth. (6) Depress the plunger as far as it will go, depositing paste on the back of the tongue. (7) Immediately raise the horse's head for a few seconds after dosing.

Parasite Control Program:
All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals, and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate. Consult your veterinarian for a control program to meet your specific needs. Paste effectively controls gastrointestinal nematodes and bots of horses. Regular treatment will reduce the changes of verminous arteritis caused by Strongylus vulgaris.

Product Advantages:
Broad Spectrum Control
: Kills important internal parasites, including bots and the arterial stages of S. vulgaris, with a single dose. A potent antiparasitic agent that is neither a benzimidazole nor an organophosphate.

Animal Safety: May be used in horses of all ages, including mares at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.

Do not use in horses intended for human consumption. Not for use in humans. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. Refrain from smoking and eating when handling. Wash hands after use. Avoid contact with eyes. The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) contains more detailed safety information. To report adverse reactions in users, to obtain more information, or to obtain a MSDS, contact VEDCO.

Formulated specifically for use in horses ONLY. This product should not be used in other animal species as severe adverse reactions, including fatalities in dogs, may result.

Environmental Safety:
Ivermectin and excreted ivermectin residues affect aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate ground or surface water. Dispose of the syringe in an approved landfill or by incineration.

Information for Horse Owners:
Swelling and itching reactions after treatment have occurred in horses carrying heavy infections of neck threadworm microfilariae (Onchocerca sp.). These reactions were most likely the result of microfilariae dying in large numbers. Symptomatic treatment may be advisable. Consult your veterinarian should any such reactions occur. Healing of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with treatment with ivermectin wormer. Reinfection and measures of its prevention should also be considered. Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve.

Net Wt. 6.08 g (0.21 oz). Tube size is 2-3/4" and the nozzle is 1-1/2" L.

does it matter what time of day the dewormer is given??
A shopper on Apr 27, 2016
Best Answer: I try to deworm the horses in the morning on cool days when no activity is scheduled and before they have been fed then give them there normal feed. I also give them Sand Clear for five to seven days before deworming.

Can I worm my dog with ivermectin ?
A shopper on Apr 17, 2016
Best Answer: I have used a little to worm my Great Dane. Not much, half of one of the marks. I did hear a woman at my vet office not to though. Maybe google this question to be on the safe side. I wouldn't want you to harm your dog.

A shopper on Oct 26, 2014
Best Answer: We've always been told to rotate wormers but this one should handle thread worms.. My old guy had a worm problem so we bought the 5 way wormer and that handles everything.. So if you're not sure about which worm it is Id try the 3 or 5 rotating ones

What is the expiration date for this?
Skyview Farm I on Oct 30, 2016
Best Answer: You will probably have to contact horse.com directly for an answer. Dewormers usually have at date that's at least 12-months out. Personally, if it has expired, I don't worry about it. Several vets have reassured me that expiration dates on many items are basically 'fictitious', but you are wise to check for your own reassurance.

how offen do you worm a hores ?
carol on Jul 20, 2016
Best Answer: It varies depending on your area. Its usually recommended to worm every 2-3 months. However it is best to have your vet run fecal samples to see exactly what kind of eggs are present and how many are present. Then you know exactly how often to worm your horse.

why do you limit the quantity? Happy customers keep coming back.
Kim A on Apr 22, 2016
Best Answer: Some drugs have a shelf life - that is - a limited time before they spoil.
At the ranch we frequently encounter very high temperatures - like over 100 - so storage is not optimal.

Is there a minimum order?
Carole A on Oct 15, 2015
Best Answer: I'm not sure if you're asking if there is a minimum order on the purchase of ivermectin or if there's a minimum order at horse.com so I'll do my best to answer both ways. I do not believe there is any minimum order on any deworming product. I do know that you'll save money on shipping by ordering $99 worth of products. I hope that helps! :-)

is it ok to give wormer that has a past expiration date?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2015
Best Answer: I am not a vet, but my vet has told me it's ok to give wormers reasonably past their expiration date, say 6 months to a year. The expired product will not hurt the horse, but at some point it might lose it's ability to kill the worms.

There used to be a chart in the horse. com catalogs which I can no longer find does anyone have that chart?
Julie B on Mar 2, 2016
Best Answer: As a sample schedule, here is the chart that used to be in our old catalogs:

"Suggested Rotational Guide
Consult with your veterinarian before beginning a rotational deworming program.
Jan/Feb: Pyrantel
Mar/Apr: Fenbendazole, Oxibendazole
May/Jun: Ivermectin, Praziquantel
Jul/Aug: Pyrantel
Sep/Oct: Ivermectin, Praziquantel
Nov/Dec: Fenbendazole, Oxibendazole"

Please keep in mind this is a sample schedule only. Please consult with your veterinarian for recommendations for your local area, and consider regular fecal testing to help determine your horse's parasite status so you can more effectively target your deworming program.

Barbara W on Jan 31, 2016
Best Answer: Their sale price of $1.99 is on a maximum quantity of twelve (12) tubes. When you order more, they charge you a higher rate. I have encountered this type of pricing more than once for this item.

We have an equine sanctuary with 75 horses, donkeys and mules. Some are so wild or damaged that we can't deworm them, but 50 are treatable. Is it possible for us to get 50 of your dewormwers for the $1.99 price? I see that the limit is 12 but we are a 501C3 non=profit EIN 26-3650244 and it would really help our budget to get such a good price. Thank you Donna Kyle Home At Last Sanctuary
