Product Summary:

JP Korsteel® Oval Mouth Loose Ring Bit

Developed in conjunction with world-renowned trainer and jockey John Patterson, JP Bits provide the utmost comfort for your horse. Unlike regular jointed snaffle's nearly straight mouthpiece sections, JP bits have a unique curved shaped that eliminates the interference that conventional bits can cause. All JP bit feature curved bars that prevent the bit from hitting the roof of the horse's mouth and eliminate the nutcracker-like action that can pinch the horse's tongue. Thick, kind, double-jointed mouthpiece with curved bars eliminates "nutcracker" tongue pinching and encourages horse's chewing motion.

what is a good training bit for a small horse?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: A simple snaffle is the best choice. Leave any type of curb to more advanced training. A jointed snaffle bit with smallish rings that would be unlikely to catch on anything if the horse does try to rub its face
