Never put a grab strap or breast collar on your D-rings! They aren't as secure as your stirrup bars. Also, the D-savers will keep any bulky leather from your attachments well in front of your leg when posting, so no chance of rubbing your thigh if that has been a problem for you.

It makes me nervous that the newest review complains of poor quality, while older ones talk of very high quality. Has the maker of this product recently changed?

BEST ANSWER: I have bought several pairs of these over the past year. I can't speak for anything made prior to that. While they may wear out, I have not seen any changes in the way they appear to be made or in how they function.
