Korsteel Copper Roller Dee Bit

One of the most basic forms of bitting, the Dee Ring Snaffle is a relatively mild snaffle that comes in a variety of mouthpieces. Whether you are starting a horse, or just going back to the basics, this bit helps with lateral movement while achieving suppleness from jaw to tail.

Best bit I own
I like double broken mouth snaffle bits, they're nice and gentle. I don't have any hard-mouthed horses. I use a long mecate and slobber straps, so most bits are off my list, Western and English. I particularly like this one, for the nice, smooth construction and the copper roller -- nice and sloppy, so it will roll easily on my horse's tongue when he's got a mouthful of grass. I don't think Korsteel makes this bit with sweet iron bars, but that's the only improvement possible in my book. I'm really glad I bought it and my horse likes it just fine.I can't evaluate Durability, haven't owned it but a month, so scored it average on that.

Do not like
I tried this bit on two babies I am breaking and niether one liked it or wanted to hold it comfortabaley. I don't know if any other horses would like this bit as two is a small sampeling, but at this time i'm not happy with it. Guessing that the large size roller is the blame.

perfect for mouthy horses
My thoroughbred had been in a regular dee, but the mouth just didn't give him enough to play with. he would constantly chew out of pure boredom. I tried a bit with smaller rollers, but it wasn't enough. finally i happened upon this bit. the roller is big and mobile enough to provide him with satisfaction and in turn less time chewing and he now spends more time engaged in what we're doing.

Excellent Baby Bit
Works great with young thoroughbred babies! Gets their mouth nice and supple! Copper player is a little large but definitely stands up to a beating! Overall it is a well made bit that gets the job done :)

Roller snaffle
This bit is very well made. It is a little heavier than I expected but it is good quality.

Even though my horse is gaited, I trained him since he was 3 y\o in a snaffle type bit. He does very well in a snaffle, so why change if it's not broken. He behaves well in a snaffle.
