Best I've ever used for coats and fly bite reactions.
I originally purchased this product for a healthy, shiny coats on my 3 horses, 2 of which are extremely allergic to fly bites. They would break out with bumps when bitten and rub places until raw; however, using the highest recommended dosage (4 scoops twice a day), my horses no longer have severe problems with fly bites. Vet says it really works to boost their immune system. I'm convinced.

Great
I have a 13 yr old QH with such dry skin. I had to find something to give him some relief. This has truly helped. He doesn't have the dry flakes and my poor barn is no longer his scratching post. I give him 2 scoops a day with his feed and he's doing so much better. He also shedded his winter coat much quicker this spring. Normally he will have a lot of hair left to shed when it's reaching the 80s. So, I know he's staying cooler and is much more comfortable. Strongly recommend.

Awesome product and an amazing price!!!
I got Felton in January 2016. He had been unblanketed in a pretty cold, wet winter and was fed from a round bale in the field. He was skinny, banged up with bite and kick marks all over. His coat was dull and lifeless. There was barely any hair on his tail. Sweet but pitiful!! I started using Simply Flax when I got him. I'd heard it was wonderful for coat, skin and digestion. Felton has had one scoop of Simply Flax every day for 1 1/2 years and he LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!!! His coat is so shiny and healthy looking! His tail has doubled in bulk and is finally below his hocks!!! His weight is perfect! As an older rider (over 55) I use Flax as part of a healthy diet, but unless it is ground up, you miss the value!!! This product is perfect and ready to feed! Our local tack store was the only place I could find it and they charged $36 plus. Horse.com had it for $24 and change, plus I got free shipping when I got his other supplies; I will never stop using this wonderful product!!!

Fresh & Healthy
This stuff smells good and even has a quality appearance, if you will. I believe it contributes to a healthy coat and to overall health. Easy to feed. Great to use in winter when antioxidant "oils" may otherwise freeze in your barn.

I have 3 glossy mares and one regular chihuahua
I feed this to all 3 of my mares...2 palominos and one seal bay...and it makes for very glossy horses in my pastures. I also use this in my homemade dog food for the 'roughage' and the dogs seem to prefer it to the chia/flax mix I used before. Will continue to purchase it here as long as Horse.com offers it at such a good price.

I just like this product. It is palatable and the price is very reasonable and I'd rather feed this kind of supplement than actual flax seed.

We have 5 horses and started using Flax with one of the mares named Lexie, and the result was that Lexie's coat looked better than the others and better than it had ever been.

My daughter has a mare that has one skin and coat issue after another. She decided to by Simply Flax to see if it would help and it has. This mare's coat glistens now. The improvement from last year's summer coat to this year's is amazing. I don't think she will ever stop giving this to her. A remarkable, visual difference. She loves it so much she is now giving it to her other horse that has no skin or coat issues.

How many days does this product last? It does not say in the description as the other products do. Is it a 24 day supply? 80 day?
Joy R on Oct 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The product is 128 ounces. The feeding directions state feed 2 to 8 ounces daily. Depending on the feed schedule it could last anywhere from 64 to 16 days.
I have a gelding that is always itching and scratching. I feel so bad for him :( He is a easy keeper and so is my mare. I would like to start giving him Simply Flax because I give other manna pro products and trust the name, so my question is will the flax put on extra calories that he doesn't need?
VICKI C on Sep 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This item should not make him gain weight.
Does this product help with arthritis?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Probably not. Would flax seed help your arthritis? I give it to my horses for their coats. I also give them a multi-vitamin, VitaFlex to make up for deficiencies.
I tend to view the whole supplement "thing" with a jaundiced eye. To be honest, the best advice will come from your vet.
My horse is currently on Farnam Horseshoers Secret Concentrate, which also contains some of the same ingredients as Manna Pro Simply Flax. Is it safe to give him Manna Pro Simply Flax and Farnam Horseshoers Secret Concentrate at the same time?
Katie C on Jan 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Katie. I don't know if you got your question answered, but my friends would say you've come to the right place for an answer. I do a lot of research on supplements and such that I give to my horses. I have two Quarter Horses, one is 35+ years old and has lost a lot of teeth so I make a mush for him twice a day using beet pulp pellets, equine senior, wheat bran, rice bran pellets, soy bean meal, rolled corn and I put two scoops of Simply Flax in his mush...so that's 4 scoops a day. It's really good for his joints, coat, and helps support his circulatory system. It says to feed the Simply Flax up to 8 scoops a day. That seems to be quite a bit and so, if you are not using 8 scoops a day, I think that the amount of flax in the Horseshoer's Secret would balance it out. I honestly don't think you will harm your horse feeding both at the same time. I'm familiar with the Horseshoer's Secret as my other horse foundered several years ago. I supplement him with Horseshoer's Secret in the morning feeding and Remission in his evening feeding. Good luck! Bobbie S.
I have miniatures and would like to know amount to feed them. Was giving them a scoop day and night but have backed off to once a day. Am I feed them to much?
Dionne P on Apr 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I feed my B-size miniatures 1-2 ounces (so 1-2 scoops) daily depending on their needs. Those that just need a bit of shine added to their coats get 1 ounce; that that need a little weight get 2 ounces. And, my little 31" senior stallion gets 1 ounce daily.
what is daily dose?
A shopper on Nov 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Label directions is 2 to 8 oz. daily. I give my aged QH X gelding 2 oz a day. He looks and acts great with it!
What s the difference between simply flax and flax seed oil?
Alicia S on Apr 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Alicia, Simply Flax is ground flax seed. Not messy, comes with a 1 oz scoop in each bucket and easy to feed. Flax oil is just that. It's the oil that comes from flax seed. I feed Simply Flax because I know it works for my horses. They have great hooves, a soft, beautiful coat, their skin is healthier, and for my older gelding, it actually helps his joints. The choice is yours but I can't recommend Simply Flax enough to you. Thanks.
how many servings per container?
RACHEL J on Feb 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The number of days depends on the amount fed. The directions are 2 to 8 ounces per day. A 1 ounce scoop is provided. I feel that the directions suggest feeding an excessive amount. I feed 1 ounce daily. My Chestnut gleams without grooming and burrs slide out of his tail. Feeding 1 ounce per day from an 8 lb bucket lasts 128 days.
