ProClot™ Chito+™ uses a proprietary formula of natural ingredients to capture blood components in a nano-particle web and rapidly form a physical barrier at bleed sites, preventing bleeding. Without needing to rely on a body’s clotting factors, this makes ProClot™ Chito+™ effective for all types of bleeding injuries, yielding rapid and effective results.

Because of how it works, ProClot™ Chito+™ does not enter the bloodstream or occlude blood vessels. From nuisance cuts to major blood vessel trauma, wherever there is an active bleed, ProClot™ Chito+™ can be effective in controlling/stopping bleeding

The primary ingredient of ProClot™ Chito+™ is chitosan, which is derived from the exoskeletons of shrimp. For nearly 20 years, chitosan has been known to have various beneficial properties. Until recently, chitosan alone has not been an effective means for treating bleeding wounds, but Medix ProClot™’s formula has unlocked chitosan’s potential. Using innovative bio-molecular engineering, Medix ProClot™’s enhanced chitosan, Chito+™, is a novel biomaterial that is incredibly effective at stopping blood loss.

Use ProClot™ Chito+™ for a cut, it can be applied anywhere external injuries happen and wherever you happen to be. In the event of serious bleeding, ProClot™ Chito+™ may save a life. With Medix ProClot™’s proprietary Chito+™, testing has shown that our enhanced formula can halt even an arterial bleed in just a few minutes. Arterial bleeds, which are typically fatal injuries, can lead to exsanguination within as few as five to fifteen minutes. Stopping or slowing these dangerous bleeds with ProClot™ Chito+™ can allow time for your veterinarian to arrive and administer crucial aid before transporting an injured horse to a medical facility.

Ease of Use. Simply apply directly to the injury, then apply pressure (ideally with gauze or some other form of barrier fabric) until the agent has had time to work, typically 1-3 minutes
