Great curry comb
This curry comb really removes the hair. I have a senior horse that has problems shedding in the spring through summer. This really helps me get the hair off.

Great for caked on mud and shedding
I bought this curry because the all metal curry I had since childhood finally came apart. I'm sure I will have this one for another 20 years or so. Metal curries are great for shedding and breaking up caked on mud. I like it better than a shedding blade. The teeth on a shedding blade seem to wear away over time and don't break up tough mud as well. Metal curry is a must have in my grooming box.

This is my winter brush
This is like the only brush/comb I use in the winter because it really gets all the mud out of their coat. It also really helps when they're shedding. I don't like it so much in the summer though because I don't really like the idea of the metal teeth right on their skin.

a must have
shedding and getting tough, dried sweat and mud off - this curry comb gets it done! Make sure to use the side with the shorter teeth on summer coat, long-teethed side for winter coats and shedding.

Great for goats, too!
I got one of these to use on my Nigerian Dwarf doe and she LOVES it. It worked great during shedding season for getting out all her winter coat. So far the metal hasn't rusted which is a big plus. I've used it on my horse, too, during shedding season and when she's really muddy. It works great. This sort of brush is definitely an essential if you have furry livestock animals. :)

Great Curry
Good old reliable curry comb... may have to buy another just because my mare stepped on it and it got a bit squished... other then that, it's held up great for the past year. No rusting or breaking!

This curry comb is pretty much like the same old ones I had as a kid. The handle is plastic but it was exactly what I wanted to take care of the Spring hair shedding. It's worth purchasing.

Is the blade stainless steel?
Bill V on Apr 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: no, but it is an excellent quality and long lasting! Left one of mine out in winter weather and didn't find it til' spring. It rusted but I was able to clean SOS steel wool pad, after well dried, I oiled it and it still works great!
Metal curry comb uses for?
Jessica M on Sep 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: A metal curry comb is used to loosen and pull out dead hair as a horse is shedding. I guess you could just comb them with it, but we comb in a circular motion and it just makes the horse look very sleek and shiny.
I can't seem to get the pin to release to flip the blade over. What am i doing wrong?
A shopper on May 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am wondering if you may misunderstand the mechanism. Just grab the tip of the curry comb (best with leather gloves) and pull it away from the handle. It should give about 1/2 inch (spring loaded) and you can turn it, then let it snap back. If it's a used one and quite dirty it may take a bit more strength. But there is no switch or pin, just brute strength against the spring that holds it.
Good luck! ;-)
