Love this halter.
It's a great halter. Fits all the horses and I no longer have to pay attention to the size. My horses tend to listen a little better now as well.
Mustang Knotted Rope Halter
Love this set, the lead rope is kind of skinny but not bad by any means. Knots are placed in the correct spots (seems to be an issue with cheaper products). I will purchase more in the future.
GREAT QUALITY AND GREAT PRICE
I have bought 4 of these over the past year and can't believe how great they are for the price. I love the extra long lead and knot the line up the line to allow for the horse to pull back and still have control. The rope is great for that extra control and one pull on the halter and I have there attention immediately. I love having the rope attached and not having to hunt down a lead rope when I need it in a hurry. I highly suggest you buy one of these and after you use it for a short time you'll replace all your old halters and leads with this product..
good product for training
The rope could be a little longer, but overall is great for working with a young horse.
Good quality to last
I have had this product for 6 years, and I still love this halter. The added knots give you an extra bit of leverage for more stubborn horses, yet sits comfortably on the horse when relaxed. This halter has fit most Quarter Horses I have put it on to use. The lead rope it comes with is even long enough for me to use as reins if needed/wanted. I would definitely recommend this product.
Its A Real nice Halter overall, Fits all.
Very nice overall, I dont like how stiff the halter is.. It has Rubbed around my horses face.. I Had to work it in, but now its better. <3 Nice long lead, but doesnt get in your way! Its Soft, and feels good in the hand on a long day.
i like this trainiing halter, it fits the horse & does not slip down like i have had them do in the past.
this is a nice comfortable product for the horse & trainer both
Great halter and will be ordering more
I bought this rope halter over a year ago to try it out and compare it to others that I had. I needed an extra one and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I love this halter!! I am going to buy two more today for our 2 year old's that are going to be started this fall. The one I bought is still in perfect condition and it is used on a dominate mare that when first here, did everything she could to get away from us and avoid us, which put a lot of strain on the halter.
Fit
This halter is great it will fit most horses. Not sure about a draft but fits my Tennessee Walker with some room to spare.
Good Quality
This is a strong rope halter and lead rope. It is very adjustable to fit any of my horses. The rope is a little thicker then most rope halters so it works great on my young filly.
Nice
Love this halter for training my hot warm blood filly. Nice long rope. Will purchase more in the future. A little stiff but gets better with use.
Love the quality and value for the price.
This would be a great string halter for twice the price. I have used it under my bit hanger and leave it on for the ride. It makes it easy to tie her up at the rail and lead her. A valuable piece of my tack for everyday use. They never seem to try to pull back with it.
Good Rope Halter
I'm pleased with the quality of this halter. The rope is a tiny bit thicker than I would like but manageable. The extra knots are helpful with my mare and I use it as a bitless alternative to a bridle. I'm not so pleased with the lead that came with the halter. It's stiff, although the length is nice. Good for emergencies but not every day. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.
Works like a charm!
My mare has become slightly disrespectful, and this rope halter certainly gets her attention when we do lunging.
Great rope halter
I was really impressed with the quality of this halter at such a reasonable price. Wish I would have bought more.
great
I really like the longer lead line on this halter. My horse works well in it. I would buy more of them and recommend it to others.
Awesome Halter
The halter itself is great, the knots needed a little tightening but otherwise it was ready to go right out of the box. It puts pressure on the face at the right points and is flexible right away and isn't stiff. The rope is nice and long, a little smaller in diameter I was expecting but it's okay. It's kind of slick too, so knots sometimes come undone if you don't make them tight. My little colt pulled back on it tied to a metal pole hitching post, and it singed half of my rope where it was tied. But for the price, well worth the money!
Nice training halter and rope. Love how long the lead is on it. The halter part is a little bit big, but it adjusts to most any size head. Definitely for training and not tying out, due to the knots on nose piece!!!
Very Pleased
I was very pleased with the Mustang training halter, it fit my TW nicely and I was tickled with the "two eyes response" when I was working her on the lunge line it is a really nice halter for the price.
PRETTY GOOD PRODUCT
A LITTLE THICKER ROPE ON THE HALTER PART THAN I HAD HOPED FOR - LEAD ROPE A GREAT LENGTH AND NICE AND SOFT
as good as the clinician halters
I like this halter for a pushy horse. The knots on the nose command respect from a pushy horse. The throat strap is plenty long to fit any size horse. Also, if you want to put a couple of knots in the poll area, it is still long enough for any horse. Good quality materials in the halter. However, the lead rope leaves alot to be desired. Long enough but of a poor quality material, rather flimsy, will break easily if a horse should set back. Order the Mustang Tight Braided Lead and you have the perfect combination! Use the other lead rope to tie up a gate or as a dog leash.
Does it's job!
I ordered my first rope training halter from Clinton Anderson and wanted to try this to compare. It's not as stiff, but seems to do the job just fine. :) Love that it came in brown!!
Good Halter
Nicely priced, nicely made. I like the quality of this halter. It fit both my 1200 and 1600 pound quarters nicely, was quick to put on and adjust. My 3 yo can be unruly. This halter definitely gives more control than a flat halter, but he still could give a good hard pull if he chose to. I had better luck with a hackamore on him. For my older gelding, this works beautifully.
love it
I origionally bought this for my 14.1 Quarter Horse, it is big on her. So I put it on my 15 -16 hand Missouri Fox Trotter (with relativly the same size head) it fits him better but is still a bit big. This is a real nice halter though and i absolutely love the 12' lead.
Great Product
This product is really good quality and I have not had any problems with its kinking like my other rope halter. I Love this halter so much I repurchased one for my other horse.
perfect halter
I got this halter for my 4 year old green broke BLM mustang colt and it works so well I hardly ever use my nylon one, it didnt need any adjusting and fits right to him, I tied a knot at the end of the lead and it works perfectly for longing. The long lead is also helpful for swinging around his head and body to desensitize him. I wouldn't change anything about it even if I could!
Stayed on the head
Stayed on the head of a horse that is an escape artist! Hoping it will help with skin abrasions caused by regular halters
good training halter
i was looking for a stiffer rope halter because me 7 yr old mare needed something to get her attention and this worked well its not extremlly stiff but its just enough to do the job but i thought the lead rope was a little too thin for me
Love it!
I recently bought this for use on horses I was training and I love it! The lead rope is soft and flexible and the halter holds it's shape while conforming to each horses' head. I highly recommend this product! It is by far the best rope halter I've found(that's cheap)!
Good tough halter
This is just like the halter the australian trainer uses but without the inflated price. The only difference is, this rope measures about 5/16" while the alternative halters measure about 1/4". I prefer the 1/4" because it looks nicer and applies more pressure but thats because there is less bearing surface. This halter will last forever and will take a ton of bumping on. The 1/4" are pricier but this one is nice for a horse in training because they can tear this halter up and its super cheap to replace if it ever came to that point.
Great Knotted Halter
Fits my 15.2 hh TWH 5-year old. Knots need some adjusting, but it isn't hard. I love that it's available. I've been looking for this exact product for over a year!!
Great Rope
I have been looking for a great rope halter and 12 inch lead and i found it! I am a bitless person and hate bits and this works great!
Rope Halter
Ordered this halter to use on my 8yr old paint. Have to say, it is an excellent product for a great price. Comparable to the high end rope halters.
Great Halter! - Super Value!
I have three of these halters. I use them on a 14h pony, 15h Quarter Horse, and 16h Draft. The drafts was snug at first but has stretched a little. He had a habit of "popping" his head to break snaps. After "testing" his a couple of times that's not a problem anymore! Love the extra long lead for groundwork & tying up to trees on the trail. The extra knots on the nose are a plus and they are a better value than the "professional" halters.
Great, except it doesn't fit my fattie!
In the picture it looks like this has a ton of excess rope hanging at the closure point, my horse's head is big but isn't THAT big... this doesn't fit her and the draft horse sized one I have is way to big. Anyway, it's good quality and the closure at the end of the rope is neatly melted with a rubbery product instead of metal.

Will this fit a horse with a large head?
A shopper
on Aug 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's a great halter, I've bought several and recommend them to my clients. I use them on all my horses, if different sizes with no problems. I'm not sure if it would fit a draft size horse though, anything smaller, I'm sure it would work fine

I use mine on a 17.1 hand quarter horse. His a big horse and the clinician hallter fits but after fitting and tieing a knot, You will only have about 2" of excess rope left.
Yes. I have a thoroughbred with a long slender head and a big boned paint horse and this halter fits both with no problems.
I purchased two of these last year and am quite satisfied. Yes it will fit a large horse.
Yes it will, it fits my large horse well. Also adjusts for a smaller head. Great halter!
This halter is sized for average horses approximately 800-1100 lbs.
Yes, it should fit a large quarter horse or walking horse.
Will fit large standard horse but not a draft horse

is it the same 1/4 inch as the basic twisted halter?
A shopper
on Jun 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I do not think the knotted rope halter is the same thing as the twisted halter. The knotted rope halter has small knots on the nose band - which aids in controlling the frisky horse. I sure do like mine. I do not think the twisted rope halter has this option.

I think the rope is a little thinner than usual rope halters but it's well made and I like the pressure knots for a little more control. I should have bought several more. Dru
Yes it is. This halter and lead has worked very well for us with our mules who can be a bit strong headed when they want to be. The knots are properly placed.
the rope is 1/4 inch, but it is stiffer.
I think it is. It has a good feel to it.

How do you use a rope halter?
BEST ANSWER: I used it to break a horse to lead. The strategically placed knots applied the right pressure so you could teach the horse to turn it's head with average human effort. It helped to keep the horse under the impression they could not get away from this halter and to not fight it or the pressure becomes more noticeable.

Congrats on asking the right question. You can find the answer by watching any of the trainers on RFD TV , horse magazines and training videos. If you are inexperienced, the best thing you can do for your horse is to learn how to use the halter first, so you don't have to undo a problem. Best of Luck
I use it when working on leading and turning, giving and also desensitizing. The knots are supposedly in correct positions for proper pressure points. Works very well. A lot of people use them for everyday.
I used it to train a 2yr old wild mustang. The tied knots help with the pressure.
Thank you, I've never used a rope halter and I was planning on using it to train a wild mustang for the youth extreme mustang challenge program. Would this work for training?
Yes it worked well for me
