To keep tail clean and from fading but this is a very heavy tailbag. I prefer lighter weight bags - my horse does not appreciate how it whips her.
Sandy W on Aug 31, 2017
The velcro came undone almost immediately in the pasture and the bag was lost. Would rather pay less and get the nylon tie-in ones.
EMILY S on Mar 25, 2016
Great price, easy to put on and will not be too bummed as my horses go thru tail bags every couple of months.

Best tail bag ever! Seriously for the price, it is great. Durable enough that our geldings each wore one all winter long, no issues!

Which is a better tail bag? This or the Basic Lycra Tail bag? Which one stays in better?
A shopper on May 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I do not have the Lycra tail bag. This one has worked really well for us. Easy to use, easy to clean, and the price is right. We have never had a problem with it staying on except when it was too long. Our smaller pony needed the bag to be shortened so that he did not step on it. I wish I could say that I brought it home and sewed it shorter (that was my original thought), but in reality, I just tied a knot in the end, and it shortened it perfectly.
Do they have to attach to a rug?
Jennifer E on Jan 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, there is a little strap on top that snaps from one side to the other. Before I put my horse's tail in the bag I braid it which makes it much easier to stick in the bag. I then put the little strap through the braid and snap it to the other side. This bag has worked well for me and my horse.
How do these protect the tail? How do you put them on? If you didn't like this bag, do you have a better product in mind? If so please tell me why and what the name is? Do these stay on pretty well?
Judy K on Feb 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It keeps the tail from getting muddy and dirty in the winter. This has been a great product for our horses. We loosely braid the tail, then put the braid in the bag up till the top of the braid. The top of the tail area is of course not braided, and the braid is not tight near the bone part of the tail. Simply slip the Velcro strap through the top of the braid and attach the Velcro tab to the Velcro on the bag.
If it gets stuck, does the velcro release? I'm worried my horse will rip her whole tail off if she gets stuck.
Candace Q on Jun 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The Velcro is strong enough to keep it on with normal wear, but it will come off before something like that would happen. I have had a few of these, and they work great.
