I was tired of combating the mold growth on my two previous leather tie downs. I thought I would try a synthetic tie down this time.

BEST ANSWER: Honestly, I don't really know. The best way for me to describe the material though, is that it is like nylon halter webbing, only single ply. It is a little slippery to feel, but this has not affected how the adjustment rings lock the length into place. I have used it in water trail rides regularly with zero slippage in length. The only problem I have had with the tie down is the snap on the girth end - it is slowly corroding over time and will eventually need replaced. I will buy again.
