Awesome flag! Awesome price!!
I don't really need to use this often with my mare, but I have always wanted one and found them to be too expensive. When I found this one for a great price, I was excited and bought it (of course). I have used it a few times with my mare. It's been holding up great so far. It's light weight, easy to carry around, and my mare doesn't care much for it...which is good, because she will listen when I have it in hand. Like I said, I don't need to use this with my mare often at all, so not sure how well it would hold up to daily use. I have used it 3 times in the last 3 weeks.

What a flag
My OTTB responds to me so much better than a regular whip......He is not as fearful and when we are done he likes to try and put the flag in his mouth......When he see a regular whip he his terrified.....Great tool....Highly recommend

Product has limited use
I was expecting the rod to be stiffer. Great value and quality for what it is. A short flag to send a horse around and move its feet.If that's all your looking for... Great buyI'd prefer a stiffer shaft that I can also use directly for pressure on the hind end, shoulders or rib cage or attach a string to if desired.

Gets the job done
Super flexible. Wouldn't be my first choice to purchase again because it has too much give when you move the flag. Gets the job done for the most part.

Great flag at great price
Been looking for training flags. No way was I going to pay $35. to $60. for a fiberglass stick and piece of cheat nylon material! Found this flag and have been using it for about 3 months on a regular basis. The flag has held up perfect. I love the lightweight because it goes where I direct it without breaking my wrist! The price is right too.

Nice Item
I finally broke down and bought a training stick, not using just a plastic bag tied onto a broken whip, I wonder ...why did I wait so long? This was a great purchase, light enough to handle, and I put it to use right away.

Great Training Aid
The price is great compared to other flags available. It has a rip-stop nylon flag at the tip of, what appears to be, a fiberglass shaft. The grip is a nice foam handle. The whole unit is light-weight and effective.Be prepared to do a little maintenance work on it. Right out of the package, the handle came off the end, making it impossible to use on my first attempt. After I repaired that, the tip that secures the flag came loose after my first real use. Fortunately, I had some super glue handy. Both the foam handle and flag-holding tip were reattached using a generous amount of super glue. Since repairing it, I've used this flag numerous times, with great success and no other issues. This is a great training aid, at an unbeatable price. I highly recommend it. Just have some super glue ready to take care of those two weak points.

Probably one of my favorite training tools. The handle can come off. If it does, just use some super glue and you are back in business. Super light weight. Effective. Great product. Just realized I forgot to order another one.

Training horses or cows to load or just loading is easier without the use of a hotshot.

Have been working my mare with a flag that I borrow from the farm I keep her with and it works wonderfully! She is responsive and not sensitive to many things. A definite benefit when lunging and wanting to switch direction.

My horse always wanted to cut across while lunging and would get dangerous with bucking and kicking out. This keeps him focused and protects me if hes getting too close by keeping it up in front of his eye! It made all the difference and now i dont even need and hes completely relaxed now while lunging. Thank you!

What is this used for?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: People use it as an aid to help when training a horse to lunge that wants to cut in on them or try and run them over. When brought up in front of their eye they automatically want to move away from it. It can also be used as another tool to sack out your horse. I bought this and used it once.. Seemed to work well but I had more success from watching rick gore horsemanship videos on YouTube. You don't need any special whips or flags. Hope this helps!
