Product Summary:

Patriot SolarGuard 155 Energizer 0.15 Joule
The Patriot SolarGuard 155 is a low impedance energizer designed to deliver power to the end of the fence even under heavy load e.g. foliage, undergrowth. It is ideal for small range acreage settings.  It is the most powerful portable Patriot solar energizer.  The light compact design with carry handle makes it ideal for portability.  The unit includes an internal battery and solar panel, providing a convenient all-in-one energizer.  The energy efficient solar panel charges the internal battery to power the fence line.  Solar panel recharges the battery as required to support long battery life.  The battery saving mode maximizes battery life.  The flashing red light indicates at a glance that the energizer is working and powering the fence.  It has multiple mounting options of T-post and wood post.  It has a large storage capacity that enables up to 21 days of operation without sunlight.  2 year warranty (includes lightning).

does the rechargeable battery need replacing?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: When used and cared for properly, the battery could hold up for around 2 years.
They're easy to replace. Battery chain stores and many farm supply stores carry them.
Using the charger year 'round, you don't have to do anything but keep the solar panel clear of snow, weeds, etc so it can keep the battery charged.
If really cloudy conditions persist for 2+ weeks or'll need a 2amp battery charger to recharge the battery in the absence of sun.
