Didn't stay in place.
These did not work for my mare. Just couldn't get them to stay up. If I did them any tighter, she couldn't walk. A lot of sweat formed under them as well. They are very well made and clean up nice. I was trying to use them all night and they just didn't work for me. They would be worth a try for someone else though. Better than others I've used.

Good knee boots
The only thing I could find that would stay on to prevent re-wounding this difficult area to bandage. A maxipad can hold medicine and is correct shape and has adhesive on the back which sticks to the neoprene. Much easier than using stretchy tape and gauze.

Exactly what I was looking for!!!
My mare's legs don't lock, so as she falls asleep standing up her knees buckle and she ends up landing & sliding across the floor on her knees & pasterns. Now at least she isn't ripping her skin & creating more scar tissue. The knees boots stay in place even after she lands & skids on the floor. As she falls at least every night, they are holding up very well after 3 weeks of use.My only *humm* is that she sweats while wearing them, but I'll take sweat over blood & crusty wounds any day :)

are these knee boots sized?
A shopper on Jul 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No. Velcro straps are sewn onto the upper and lower neoprene flaps which overlap and stretch to fit. There is a right, left and upper and lower orientation marked on the boots. (Label on top for up.) Probably would slip on a small horse. Also not designed to stay on while riding.
Can you use this boot while riding? Looking for protection if my horse trips on trail.

BEST ANSWER: I would not use while riding. You may need to do some overall checking on your horse as to why its stumbling. Examples, weak back, saddle pinching, neck out. probably needs some collection work so that it strengthens the abdominal muscles to be able to lift the back.
Do the knee boots stay in place? My horse will be turned out wearing them.

BEST ANSWER: Yes they have a strap above the knee and one below it so you can get a nice fit. I bought a pair of these for my mare who got a bad cut on her knee that we could not keep a bandage on, and these knee boots worked awesome for keeping her knee covered while the cut healed.
