These are hardly easy. Had to force the locking pieces. And they don't fit over my bit

Dense rubber, large diameter prevents known horse of chewing from doing so.
Best bit guards I've ever had
I went looking for new bit guards because the little neoprene ones kept ending up gross and in my horse's mouth, and I didn't want to deal with the rubber ones. These have give and are soft, but are ridged enough to stay in place. and they won't slide down or fold over. I love how the hole is customizable to the mouthpiece size; more to help it do its job perfectly.
Super easy to use
These bit guards are by far my favorite. They're really great for changing in between bits, and protect really well. They also don't come unclipped and fall of while riding, which is really nice.
Better protection and lasts longer than any other product
These are easily interchangeable between bits. They last much longer than any other guards that I've used.

amazing! just what i was hoping for :) its not too thick so it doesnt change the mouthpeice by much, really easy to put on and take of of any bit, buttons are very secure... i love it! these are the only bit gaurds i will ever by. i hightly recomend these

BEST ANSWER: They are flexible, but I'm finding that they warp easily, so they don't stay in place after a while because the bit slides up into the notch at the top and not the hole where the bit is supposed to go.

Yes, the guards are flexible but not as much as a neoprene. I live these guards, and they are easy to apply & remove from a bit.
They are flexible enough to make them easy to put on the bit but rigid enough to prevent your horse from grabbing the shank.
I haven't used mine yet, but they're somewhat flexible.

How do these work? Do you have to take the bit off the bridle first or what?

BEST ANSWER: The seam pops apart, you trim the inner circle if needed to the size of your bit. Then the tabs pop back in when you put it on the bit. Very handy and easy to use.

They work pretty good if you are trying to stabilize the bit. No you don't have to take the bit off the bridle. I ride with a simple snaffle O ring bit.
No need to take the bit off the bridle. Just open them up as shown in the image and close them again around the mouthpiece.
No they open and slide right over bit or bridle. They work great and last long.
No the bit guard comes apart.

BEST ANSWER: softish rubber. I've tried the softer ones with Velcro but they don't last, the Velcro stops sticking. really happy with these ones
