Product Summary:

Reinsman Rockin S Smooth Snaffle Bit
This bit was designed to decrease the discomfort at the corners of the horse's mouth.  Will not pinch.  The extra 3" rings at each end of the mouthpiece float independently to disperse the pressure across the lip and cheek making the horse more responsive to the riders cues.  Attach the rein to the floating "D" ring outside the cheek rings.  The mouthpiece is large enough to allow the rider to pull on a horse without injuring the bars.  7/16" Smooth sweet iron snaffle.
Size:  5" Mouth

The Rockin S Snaffle really ROCKS!!
I bought this bit because Mark Rashid had recommended it on his site. He said it helped horses bend better and also helped with horses that lean on the bit. I thought I would try it since I like his approach and I wanted to ride one of my horses in a snaffle. I had been riding him in a kimberwicke with 1 joint. Anyway I've ridden him about 5 times in the Rockin S, also with 1 joint, and he is going great!. It's no miracle and it's subtle but I can tell he really likes this bit! I also ride my other horse in it and he also likes it and goes better in it. I was riding him a double jointed Baucher previously.I thought it was worth a shot and it is!!

How can I choose the size of this bit?
A shopper on Mar 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The size of the bit is the port length, the portion that goes into the horses mouth. Normal horse size is 5". If you are unsure, measure the inside width of the bit you are currently using.
