This bareback pad is great!
I have ordered this same pad 3 times now and haven't regretted it once! They last forever and fit the horses back really well. Also, the black use to come navy and now it actually comes black and it looks really good now! Will definitely buy again when it's time.

Not a cinch up
Nice overall pad, but disappointed it was a buckle type. From everything I read and saw I thought it was the cinch type:(

Product stays in place
The handle at the front of the pad is not very durable. It ripped off on one end.

You get what you pay for.
I can't review how this saddle pad rides, because I'll never put it on my horse. The contour is slight if not completely negligible and there is simply nothing to it. Not the fault of the maker, the fault is mine. I should have just ordered the same pad I have for my husband.I'm sure it's just fine to ride around the pen, but I prefer a saddle pad that I can take out on the trail and have confidence in. I'll return the unused saddle pad and order another Triple E Waxwear pad.

Just What I wanted
Hello I'm 15 and I have been wanting this pad for about a year now...I would have bought it before but the price was pretty high. I LOVE this pad...First, I ordered the "Blue Ice" color and it was significantly darker than the picture showed...which is great. It won't show the dirt as much. Second. The neoprene on the bottom seems very durable and in the little holes in the neoprene you can see that it has wool in it, making the pad thin but very sturdy. Every time I get on my horse bareback she moves and tries to walk off and I think it is my tail bone being jammed into her spine but now that I started using this she stands there very relaxed while I get on...It is also a lot more comfortable for me as well. The girth is ok...Since it is not pictured I will explain it. It is a piece of Nylon covered in some fake sheepskin...I would use it but it is too big for my 14.3 hand horse. She has a smaller chest tho and wears a 30in. girth on the saddle (which is still almost too big). Thanks

stays on well and helps you stick to the horse!
I only had a chance to try this once so far and it's the first time I've used a bareback pad, so I don't have much to compare to. I love the Tacky Too backing. I have another Reinsman pad with Tacky Too and it also stays in place really well. The microsuede provides a nice secure grip. The cinch that came with it was too large for my horse, but you can use a regular western cinch. I was hoping not to spend this much on an experimental item that I probably won't use much, but when I looked at prices of other bareback pads, the quality of this one blew the others out of the water.

Fits Great!
This pad fits my Tennessee Walking Horse great. No slippage and it was comfortable for me and my horse.

Comfortable pad!
I bought the brown pad and it is a very pretty dark chocolate brown. It does lock you in place and makes you feel more secure. The only complaint I have on it is that the handle is already coming undone after just one use. I had to grab it only one time when my horse decided to take off a bit faster than I was prepared for. Other than that, I think it is a good pad and a good price.

Perfect alternative to a saddle!
LOVE this pad! I have a Tennessee Walker that is super comfortable to ride and was looking for a bareback pad to use instead of a saddle for shorter rides. This one fits perfect and even the girth fits good. It did slide back some when I took it out on a 2 hour trail ride, but didn't take but a minute to undo the girth and put it back in place. Great product and great price!

Well made and tacky side is secure on the horse's back and the micro-suede is also not slippery. It's my second one.

Does this saddle fit a large standard or a mammoth donkey?
A shopper on May 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This bareback pad is designed to fit an average size horse, but it would "probably" fit a donkey so long as the included 32" adjustable cinch is the right size for that animal as well. We couldn't say, however, if a pad made for horses would slip more on donkeys, or fit inappropriately otherwise? The Tacky Too bottom might help hold it in place, but there are no dees to attach a breast collar if needed. Unfortunately it's not possible to know for sure in advance.
I have a 21yr. old Tennessee Walker mare that is 16 1/2 hands she wears a 36inch girth. I love to ride bareback and wanted something that would help minimize the sweat contact between me and my horse. Would this pad fit well for her size?
