Specifications:

Measuring Instructions: Stand your horse as square as possible, measure from the center of chest around side of the body to the point of the horse's rump just before the tail. If you horse ends up measuring between sizes always round up to the next size to ensure full coverage.

Washing Instructions: Machine wash with cold water. Gentle cycle with mild detergent. Air dry or machine dry/no heat.

Horses Turned Outside Without Shelter: Turnout Sheet and Blanket materials are waterproof and designed to keep your horse dry. However, if your horse is turned out in a field without a run in shed or shelter during prolonged rain or heavy downpours, your horse may still get wet, especially in the neck and tail areas.
When using a blanket or a sheet on your horse it is critical to monitor the fluctuating climate and temperatures even with a blanket that is waterproof and breathable. The wicking properties of a breathable blanket are designed to wick away normal body heat. When a blanket is too heavy the heat and moisture cannot be wicked away fast enough, causing your horse to sweat. The temperature and the length of your horse’s coat will determine what weight of blanket you should use. For this reason, most people who choose to blanket horses have several articles of horse clothing that offer varying levels of warmth.

needed turnout sheets for my school horses
Roberta J on Aug 11, 2016
Have repeatedly purchased Saxon Turnouts - Pricing is VERY competitive. Blankets hold up well unless horse gets crowded alongside barbed wire fence :-(

Super durable turnout sheet that my horses wear all spring and fall to keep the rain and mud off then. Have lasted three years now and are true to size. Will be ordering new ones this fall!

how do i mesure for size?
A shopper on Oct 2, 2014
Best Answer: 1) Stand your horse square.
2) Place your measuring tape at the center of the chest.
3) Lay the tape across the widest part of the shoulder and hip, at an angle towards the tail.
4) Go from the middle of the chest to the middle of the tail just one side and that measurement is the horse's blanket size.

Does this blanket fit true to size?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2016
Best Answer: Yes it does. I have 3 horses - 2 wear 72 the other 75. These sheets / jackets fit fine -even have room to add a blanket underneath, if I needed to. By fit I mean the front is fully closed and the belly bans and rear straps are snugged to spec (my fist fits in the gap from straps to belly). I've used them for 2 seasons. Make sure to keep the small rear strap buckles clean and up out of the mud, they can be tricky to clean and replacing the straps requires sewing new ones on...

is it safe to have a daysheet on in the heat of the summer? I need something to keep horse safe from the sun due to skin cancer
dorry a on May 1, 2016
Best Answer: I am a customer who bought a light blanket for a horse with a good winter coat on bitter 10 degree & below winter nights. I know nothing about your concern. I am not sure why I was asked to answer this question. That said, I would suggest you ask your vet his thoughts & then monitor your horse. If he/she is sweating more than expected then probably inside with the sheet off might be better to do on that day. Betsy

Is this sheet waterproof? What weight is it? Is it lined?
A shopper on Apr 28, 2014
Best Answer: The Saxon 1200D Turnout sheet in purple plaid has been my go-to blanket. I own 3 and have friends who also use it. For the money this is the best blanket on the market. It is waterproof, it is lined, it is light wt without being flimsy. My horses were their blankets about 5 months out of the year. They are turned out together all day and stalled at night. My only complaint is the snaps on the hind leg straps are light wt. and get clogged with dirt. I attach a heavier snaps to the original and problem solve.

What is the weight of this sheet? I see another Saxon sheet is considered "lightweight". What is the difference between this sheet and "lightweight"?
A shopper on Dec 4, 2016
Best Answer: I consider this a lightweight blanket but also a rain sheet. It has no insulation but because of the tightness of the weave it holds body heat in during the early winter season. I use it up until temperatures drop into the 30s on a consistent basis and my horses stay dry and warm. It's a great rainsheet as well. I've used this brand and weight of blankets for several years and have been very happy with them. They take a lot of rough play between my mares who bite each other frequently. I've tried 600 denier and not has as good of success.

I need a blanket for weather between 29 to 40 degrees. Is this the right blanket? If not, wich one is?
Nicky on Feb 27, 2015
Best Answer: I live in the mountains of Southern California where our low temperature is sometimes between the 20s and 40s. My horses generally have a pretty nice thick coat during the winter months so this blanket works very well for them, keeping them warm and dry but no sweaty. The 1200 denier holds up very well
