FOCUS HF Hoof provides 10mg of supplemental biotin per serving. This is many times more than is already synthesized naturally in the horse by intestinal microbes. [sic. 2007 Nutrient Requirements of Horses] Some research (funded by vitamin manufacturers) have suggested that very large quantities of a single vitamin (biotin), is beneficial to hoof quality. However, we feel that it should not be necessary to mega-dose an individual vitamin to foster a normal response. Indeed, our opinion is strengthened by the reports of so many horseman who have supplemented biotin (15mg to 40mg per day) without success. When they have changed to FOCUS HF, with its wealth of nutrients and micronutrients, they report the wonderfully healthy hooves, and skin and coat condition they've been seeking!

The only nutrient in SOURCE that needs evaluation when formulating a feed ration is iodine. (The levels of each of the other minerals and trace elements is so low that it will not imbalance any feed ration design).

SOURCE is a rich source of natural organic iodine. It is particularly useful for those who are seeking to increase iodine levels in a potentially deficient ration.

I deal with mainly rescue horses and of course their hooves are almost always trashed. I have used this product for years and swear by it. Horses need to be on it at least a year for that full grow out but the new hoof that comes in is sound, healthy and looks great. High price but well worth it.

Reviewing after a year...healthy hoof growth
I've used this product for a year, which I felt was necessary before reviewing it. Although, this product did not make my horse's feet tougher as one reviewer stated, his hooves have nice healthy growth rings and they hold shoes well. I gave 4 stars for palatability because my horse needed the addition of a favorite cookie before he would tolerate the flavor. I think he's just a picky eater because he always sniffs his bucket carefully before digging in.

Endless compliments from farrier
I purchased this supplement for my OTTB gelding, knowing TBs are notorious for having soft feet. He's been retired from the track for two years now, and my farrier said his feet are great and healthy. We give this to our TWH mare as well, and she's now has rocks for hooves.

Horses have beautiful strong hooves
Have had my two quarter horses on this for about 6years. The older one had terribly brittle misshapen hooves when we purchased him. After having him on this product for about 6 months, his farrier noticed that his hooves were getting stronger. My current farrier has commented that my horses are the only ones that need trimming every six weeks, even in the winter months. My vet has also commented on how both horses have really good strong hooves and frogs. Both horses are ridden barefoot with no shoes even over rocky terrain. Would recommend to anyone.

Source HF Delivers
I "had" a crumbly hooved, flat soled thoroughbred. I fully credit Source HF with providing this horse with the micronutrients he needed for hoof health over the past three years. Combined with shoeing specifically meeting his front hoof condition, this horse is out of pain, has concavity to the sole and has a hoof wall that no longer falls apart. In 2012, the UC Davis farrier recommended to never put shoes on this horse. However, the past year has been a new day with the combination of Source HF, eggbars and packing, that have made the difference in this rehabiltation horse's life! Praise God!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANYTHING ELSE!
Have been using the focus HF for at least 8 years. My QH used to have peely, cracky not so tough and ugly looking hooves. By putting him on the Focus HF I saw amazing results for half of the money that other hoof products charge. His coat is always nice and shiny too. Once I got the issue with his poor condition weak hooves under control, I was able to now have him switched over to natural balancing and being barefoot. This same horse now canters across gravel & ALL sorts of terrain without a single misstep and his hooves seem to be made of steel. And, he is also a senior at 22 years old! Thanks Source for making this product. Horse-people now stare at my QH's hooves & are amazed at what they look like!

Very palatable
I only used this for a month before I switched to a cheaper product, so I didn't see any results. But all three of my horses ate this with no problem, two are very picky.

I have used Source products for years and this is one of them. It helps horses with hooves that easily crack. I have a rescued donkey who came to us with terrible feet. I immediately started him on Focus HF and he's feet are now perfect!

Works great on my rescue horses. Has hurried along the healing for correcting the problem hooves. Even after they are repaired I still keep all horses on it as you can really notice a huge difference.

I have used original source in the past and noticed a difference in the hoof and coat condition of my (former) mare. I currently have a gelding who needs a hoof supplement so I decided to give this a go.

GREAT stuff!!! I can really see a difference!

I've used Focus products for my horses for years. I've had two who made it to 36 YOA which I credit partially to Focus Sr. keeping them balanced and healthy. I recently have had some hoof trouble with two younger horses so naturally I looked to Focus for a proactive solution to build stronger hooves.

Excellent source of micro nutrients. This product has made a significant difference in my horse hoof quality. I like that it contains natural iodine.
