This fencer is quite easy to use
We borrowed a friend's fencer at a multi day competition & were amazed at how easy the unit is to assemble. It works off of 4 D batteries. When it arrived, it was difficult to remove the unit from the stand to insert the batteries-use a mallet. We use the black lead from the top of unit to clip onto the fence as it is longer than the designated yellow lead. It is a bit difficult to attach the lead to the top of the unit once it is correctly placed back into its stand, so be careful. We were also told that moist ground provides a better current, so if the ground is very dry, pour some water around the stand insertion site before turning in the unit.

Bought for a friend. She really likes it. It's small enough to take on trips and powerful enough to move horses around in pastures. Lots of power options too.

I had an AN20 which worked great at first but now the horses ignore it so am hoping the AN90 will keep their attention longer. The ease of connection and portability were big factors in both models as we use this primarily when traveling.
