All around great bit!!!!!
I swapped out my O Rind Loose Snaffle Bit that I use on my 9YR Old Quarter Horse Paint Mare for this bit & she loves it!! Having found out hat she suffers from TMJ I needed a different bit for her. She loves this bit so much that she grabs for it as I go to put her bridle on. My dentist also told me that it sits well in her mouth by filling it slightly more, leading to me having better control of her. Before I changed to this bit she would put her head down when we ran & would rock like a rocking horse while bucking. Although it looked pretty while she did that it wasn't a good thing. It was her way of telling me that she was uncomfortable & trying to get away from the bit. I highly recommend this bit for anyone who has a horse who suffers from TMJ. Especially if you don't want to use a Hackamore like myself.

Great Bit
Mu neighbor suggested this bit for me when I first bought my horse. She wasn't happy with bit she was in previously and always refused to take it, but when I started using this bit, now she responds 5x quicker and takes it without questions...ALWAYS! I would recommend this bit to anyone!

When it says 6 1/2 " cheeks does that mean the shank is 6.5" or what? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER: a full cheek is the entire side of the bit that runs down the side of the face. In this case it would include the shanks which is the bottom half of the bit.
