Disappointed
You get what you pay for. The nipper blades were very very thick and jagged. They painted them deciveingly to look thinner.

Great Nippers
They work absolutely EXCELLENT! They do the job great, and I'm a beginner farrier! Absolutely great, a beginner or expert farrier could use these with ease.

Great nippers, very sharp. For large horses
I had purchased these to use on our mini's. They are very thick, and not great for small horse hooves. We were able to grind them down to get a better cut, but no alteration would be necessary if using on full size horses.

Great Quality! Great Price!
Great quality! They are comfortable to hold. Great price! I even bought a pair for my trainer, as he could only find ones for $60+. He was completely shocked when I told him I had gotten mine from here. I would highly recommend!

Excellent!!
Absolutely the best nippers, ever! Don't go spending your money on something else that you think will be better, just because it costs more. These are the best! My horse trainer wanted me to buy him a pair of these as he was so impressed with my set of trimmers! He was also shocked at the price, and so was I! If you are looking to get nippers, GET THESE! I highly recommend this product! Sturdy, easy to use, nice and sharp.

Could be better in trained hands
I'm no farrier by any means but I thought a pair of nippers would come in handy to keep my horses hooves in check between regular trims. I tried using these to trim a little flaw in my mare's hoof the other night and it was quite the task. I'm sure me being a small handed girl contributed to the issue but I had a really difficult time getting my hands around these and summoning the strength to bring the handles together. They just don't have the bite to them that I was hoping for. There really isn't any cushion to the handles as the description says, just a plastic coating. Overall, I think they're worth what I paid for them, just wouldn't recommend them for someone who intends to use them on a regular basis.

This product is excellent
This is great producf, if you trim your horses feet or are starting out. They get job done with good quality, just like any other expensive pair.

Horse.com sold these nippersfor a 1/3 of the price of the local farm store!
I received my nippers in just 3 or 4 days and they were much cheaper and the same quality that our local farm store was selling them for.

Not bad
They work pretty well, but have to be sharpened regularly and they have trouble with really strong, hard hooves. They do ok for light work or touch up's though. All in all pretty ok, but if you have more than one or two horses, I'd step it up.

Saw where a guy was saying everyone should have a pair of these as they are so useful for many things. Will they nip the heads off of nails and screws?
Gail H on Nov 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not sure. My horses go bare foot. I think I've seen the farrier do it, but I don't know if it was this or the shoe puller. Hmm, he uses the hoof knife to cut near the frog, then uses these to trim the hoof, and files them smooth. I've seen him do shoes, but not for a long time ... hammers in the nails, uses the hammer to bend over the ends, then nips off the ends. Hmm, sorry I can't be of more help. i'll ask next time I see him.
