This fly trap is amazing! I have it hanging by a chicken coop and flies just go for instead of swarming around the chicks and their food. Each packet lasts a long time.. until the jar fills with flies!

Bought these for the barn for years and this year bought for around the house. Having a lot of flies around the house I decided to buy and set outside on the back porch, it is hidden in the corner of the porch, but is keeping the flies from coming in as bad as in the past. Smell has not been a problem either. The unit is heavy duty, not worried about it breaking if it should fall and the refills easy to do.

great product
This system works great. Within a couple of days the jar is full of flies. Just be sure to clean it out when the weather is cool and dark. The smell may make you queasy. You may want to be sure there's adequate moving air. ...This stuff does work.

It certainly keeps it's promises!
I was a little taken aback by the size of the product....I, for whatever reason expected it to be larger! But, WOW does it fill up with flies! I just have to empty too soon! My bad....

Caught a ton of flies!
Worked OK the first few days, then I added some more water and attractant and it filled up with flies. The more dead flies in the jar the more flies it attracted. I like that they are reusable, but kind of messy to dispose of the flies. Definitely wear gloves.

Not for biting stable flies!
This product works great... if you are only trying to catch HOUSE FLIES!It is not designed to attract biting flies - either stable flies or horn flies - it is strictly for house flies

I was shocked to see how many flies were in the trap
I purchased two of these and put them around the barn. Every day for a few days there would be a couple of flies but nothing to brag about. After about a week I went to feed the horses and was shocked to see how many flies were in one of the traps. They were so thick that you could not tell there was any liquid in the trap and a lot of them were on the top of the pile still buzzing. I would swear that there were a thousand flies in there. I emptied it and refilled it with the mixture/water. That was the only time I had one of them fill up that much so not sure why that time worked so well. I recommend this product.

does it attract biting flies around the barn?
A shopper on Jun 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they work. I use a small piece of chicken or fish. You must keep a few inches of water in it. If you let it dry out, it won't work. If you put too much water in it, it won't work. A small piece of the chicken not covered up with water make it good and stinky. We are not fly free, but pretty close.
What is the best disposal method? Mine is full, but smells horrid and I don't wanna smell the whole barn up with the smell of dead flies
Machaela C on Jun 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I wear disposable gloves and triple-bag the contents for trash pickup. Other people dump the contents on their manure pile. These are reusable so you can just dispose of the contents and add more attractant if you want to. Starbar does recommend these for outdoor use only; that will help the smell situation.
