Helpful Hints:
In areas having exceptionally hard water, using distilled or purified water may improve trap performance. In areas of heavy fly populations use several traps in different locations. Never seal dead flies in a closed container. Doing so may result in a hazardous explosion.

Maintenance:
The trap contents should be agitated at least twice weekly to thoroughly wet all trapped flies. Add water as necessary to keep the fluid level 1/2" below the surface of trapped flies. Do not allow the trap to dry out. Without adequate agitation, fly larvae (maggots) may appear as a layer of dry dead flies accumulates in the trap. If this should occur, add one teaspoon of liquid dish soap and enough water to wet all files thoroughly. Maggots will drown in soapy water.

      killing flies!
Best traps ever, these are the only ones I have used for years! I used a total of 12 of them this year. Used them 3 at a time, and changed them once per month.

Excellent product keeps fly population down all summer.
This is the only product we need to control our fly population, and it works without pesticides! Each of these fly traps takes 1200-1500 flies out of the system. We start putting them out in late spring and they keep the fly population at bay throughout the summer. We're able to enjoy outdoor barbeques again, which used to be absolutely miserable because of the flies! Easy to use and very affordable.

      Keeps flies to a minimum!
Works great in my 17-stall barn in the heat and humidity of Texas.

      Best Fly Trap Ever!!
We have tried fly bags and fly strips, but this is the best product we have found so far. It catches ALOT of flies and it holds alot of flies, also. We have tried to put one in our barn, but the horses didn't enjoy the smell too much so we had to put it on the trees around the manure pile. It works great, though!

Great ALMOST all of the time
I've been using these for years and they're the most effective trap I've tried by far. I usually order a half dozen or so at a time and I've found that there's always one or two in the batch that aren't as effective as the others and I don't know why. I'm very careful in measuring the water added and most of the time I'll put a trap out and it fills right up with flies. Other times, a few flies will go in at the beginning, then no more, no matter how long I leave it there. Finally, I'll give up and put out another one and it fills right up. This has been going on for years. I'm stumped.

3 days, and it was full!
not a joke, 3 days after i put one up just outside my barn entry, it was full to the brim with flys. Put up a second trap, same thing. I gave away all my fly sprays and my fly masks because i haven't seen a fly since. go buy as many of these as possible. LOVE THEM!

      Better than other traps
I am here on this site to order more of these. These traps are better than for example the Victor Trap or others for a number of reasons. For one, they do not dry out as fast as the traps that have openings on the top. Also with the opening being on the bottom not quite as much smell gets out. So until they are so full that they do smell terribly I am able to hang them up inside my barn and catch A LOT of flies there. Later I move them to the outside so they can smell all they want and start a new one in the barn. The hanging mechanism is also better than on other traps. Others I have tried sometimes break off and the whole trap will fall to the floor being rendered useless. This trap is overall the most useful and functional.

      Fabulous!
I started with these early this year and they have really helped. They are safe and very effective. Even if tipped over they do not spill.(Hint:Best to wear gloves when you are filling them, so you do not get the smelly stuff on your hands)Price is 5 stars now while on sale!

      Great Product!
I bought two of these to start, They worked awesome! The were full of flys within a month! I mean FULL! The only thing is the smell of the traps is gross when your near them. I have also noticed they are full of house flys & not horse flys.

Is there a bad odor from this trap? The one I am using now works great but smells awful,
      Penny K on May 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, there is an order. The smell is from the additive which is used to entice the flies to enter the trap. Works great. I have not found one that does not offer some sort of unpleasant smell.
what is the difference between this and the starbar flyrelief disposable fly trap?
      A shopper on Jul 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I have used both this and the disposable fly trap. While they both work well, this can hold more flies and seems to work better than the bag. The bag has the entrance for the fly on top and this has the entrance for the fly on the bottom. Once the fly crawls up into it, it cannot get out. Sometimes I see flies walk around the top of the bag and not go in therefore not getting trapped inside. I prefer the trap n toss to the bag trap... Hope this helps.
Can overfilling with water keep it from trapping flys?
      A shopper on Jun 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have accidentally overfilled them before, and they still trap flies just fine. Once some flies get in it, and it begins to smell, there will be others.
