Will NOT fit 4 1/2" mouth!
I was hesitant to order a bit that listed as fitting a range of sizes, but I did... The bit itself is well made, and would be wonderful if it fits your horse. In my case I bought it for one that is a 4 1/2" mouth, smaller muzzled gelding. It was HUGE. Not only are the cheeks to this bit larger, but the width of the mouth was a solid 1 1/2" too much. Not exactly as advertised...

Is this bit jointed at the center of the mouthpiece? Does it swivel at the center of the bit?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, each side moves independently.
