Tough but not
It is a nice, heavy-duty fly sheet, but unfortunately it wasn't tough enough for my mare. It is plastic-y feeling and a bit heavy, but my mare didn't seem hot in it. My mare is bothered horribly by flies and constantly rubs and scratches. This sheet lasted about three weeks before it tore - most sheets last less than a week with her. It is still usable. If you have a halfway normal horse, this sheet would be great!!

Heavy duty Fly sheet
The only fly sheet my horses haven't ripped up and that has also lasted more than one season. It's the same material as a fly mask so it is thicker/warmer than the really thin ones, but it works! And we only get temps in the 80's where we live and they stay in the shade so it's better than getting eaten by flies. It also helps me to not have to cover them in chemical fly spray so often. I only use the fly spray for legs and neck area.
Good quality
Quality is very close, if not identical, to Kensington. True to size; fits all of my horses well. My horses are typically hard on fly sheets and these hold up very well. Highly recommend.
Great Fly Sheet!
This fly sheet is EXTREMELY similar to a Kensington but less than half the price! If you want a nice durable fly sheet then you should try this one. Its a bit heavy but its actually very breathable.

Does this fly sheet have the inside ling at the inside at the chest like the Kensington Fly sheet? Who is the Manufacturer of the fly sheet? Thank you so much for looking into this! Tamara Hurt
BEST ANSWER: The fly sheet is made very well, however it was way too heavy for us. There is no lining but the material is stiff and heavy.

This item does not have a lining and the manufacturer is Tough-1.

Will this fly sheet hold up to an extremely itchy horse who destroys everything?
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure. Works well on my quarterhorse but there is only one belly strap and I really need to cross the hind leg straps to keep it on straight. The material itself is great but would like more durable hardware and two belly straps to cross front to back. Material holding up well on my Tenn Walker but she has already destroyed hardware on one of the leg straps.

I had it on my mare all winter, over her winter blanket to protect it, and just as a fly sheet this summer so pretty daily use, in a pasture with 10 other mares. She is the bottom of the pecking order so gets picked on a lot and it is still holding up no tears or holes. I think it's very comparable to Kensington but half the cost
Hi Wendy, My horse has only had his tri-shield fly sheet on for about a month, and he already has a hole in it. Overall, it is pretty sturdy, but my horse is turned out with several other horses. If your horse is turned out alone, it may be ok. But if he is pretty destructive, I'm not sure how long it will last.
Hmmm I guess it would depend on what your horse is scratching itself on. These have held up very well on my horses and they roll with them on. They love them as well and put their heads down for me to put them on. Worth a try!
Yes for sure. It's just as tough at the Kensington. About the strongest sheet you can find on the market. My horses wear them 24/7. Plus you can't beat the price!
