How thick is the leather? Is this a good starter harness that would be suitable to be used in 4H showing and weekly driving?
Sheri M on Jun 18, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I wold say it’s a good quality harness. The traces are not as thick as my collared pulling harness (4 layers or skirting leather 4” wide but for driving harness two layers is more than sufficient. I go mine on sale but even at full price I would say I got my money’s worth.
Now I wouldn’t suggest it as a training harness unless your experienced and very carfull. I have tore up heavy pulling harness before. Good nylon harness is beter for that. .
Do you have Shetland size?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This particular harness comes in cob and horse size which is typically for horses 14-16hh. However, we do have other harnesses that come in smaller sizes. For example: comes in sizes
Horse: 15-16 hands
Cob: 14-14.3 hands
Pony: 11-13.3 hands
Mini: under 10 hands
What does cob mean?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: A cob is a draft pony such as a halflinger or gypsy so if you have a horse that is under 14.2 but over 12h and built like a tank (size 1 or two feet) you would need a cob harness
Does is come with a bit??
A shopper on Apr 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No it does not.
is this a marathon harness? if not, which kind of harness is this?
A shopper on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would consider it a pleasure harness. A marathon harness would have buckles at the trace straps that buckle into a padded breast collar. Padded breeching, and It would also be washable because a marathon horse would sweat and you want to take a bucket of suds to clean it up. And a marathon saddle would probably have quick release tugs.
This harness is more of a starter harness for pleasure.
my horse is 14.25 hands high should i choose size horse or size cob? she is a norwegian doela horse
A shopper on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You will want to consider the frame of your horse as well as the height. A broader horse might need a horse size even at 14.2hh. I encourage you to consult with a local harness/driving expert to ensure proper fit.
How is the leather quality?
Beth H on Nov 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's actually pretty decent. I had to "shape" the headstall because it was a little mashed in the bag, but it looks fine now. It does run small however. I had to order a horse size for my little Arabian. The cob was way to small.
what size does a 14.1 hands horse take?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Purchase the larger size. "Horse" The cob size fits a pony. I have a 14h Purebred Arabian and originaly ordered the Cob for her and because there are no sizing directions I assumed it would fit her based on her measurements from other web sites for harnesses. It arrived and did not, it was WAY to small. Everything about it was for a much smaller pony. $53 to return ship it back. Ordered the Horse sized one and it does fit. It's a decent leather harness. The horse sized one however would not fit one of my quarter horses or my Frisian. It's to small for them. The measurements for my Arabian were 70" around the heart girth, 47" for the breast collar strap over the neck, and 36" top line from withers to top of tail. Hope this helps.
Is this a hackamore?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it is a driving harness. The headstall is not a hackamore, it is bitted.

MARY BETH W on Jul 17, 2015
