My daughter needs a lighter weight, cooler blanket for her horses. I thought we would try this before putting a lot of money into one of the other blankets.

use as a bottom pad under a thicker pad and it protects your top pad.. Easier to wash/clean

Wanted a pad that provides padding where the saddle actually sits, offers ventilation and helps to keep saddle from slipping.

I'm going to try this for my endurance rides and see if it improves my horses' comfort

needed another pad, like the features

Mainly for the split, my newest horse is much shorter bodied than the others. The split makes it fit, much, much better!! I borrowed a similar one at stables and it fit quite well. Plus we are in the midst of a terribly hot , humid summer so the ventilation is sure appealing!

I wanted a lime green saddle pad to go with my horse and this one had the support I was looking for.

Will the pad lift bars off the withers?
Meemee on Sep 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will help but only by a 1/4 inch if you need it bad than you want something with over a inch padding a correction pad like:

In the picture, the 'purple' looks more pink. Does it really look like that when you got it?
Jordan H on Aug 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I bought it to match my purple breast collar...it's PINK!
do horses like them?
Jodi C on Jul 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My horse seems to like it fine. I have also noticed other people riding with me that there horse seems to sweat more than my horse with the saddle pad. I also like being able to hose it off easy.
What is the bottom made of? I'm worried it will rub my horse if the whole thing is made of rubber.
Karrah B on Jan 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: T is the same rubber material on both sides. It is my daughter's favorite contesting pad as it has awesome grib. We've had about a year now and it has held up well. Her horse is grey and thin skinnen yet this pad has not rubbed as you are worried about.
Hi, how thick is this saddle pad?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is about 1/4 inch thick. I really like it for the hot weather and it does not slide. My horse has a firm top line and the saddle is customized for his back. When I have used it on a high withered horse I had to put some shims under the saddle for it to sit where it is supposed to be on the back.
I have a mare with no withers, so my saddle slips a TON, would this keep it from sliding around?
Jill sweeney on Oct 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello Jill - Do we have "twin mares"? Mutton-withered horses are a saddle-fit nightmare. After 2 years of research, I finally found a very reasonably-priced saddle maker who has been diligent to accomodate my horse's build. This pad does help somewhat. Or try "Tacky Comfort Grip Saddle Pad Liner." BUT the main problem is that an A-shaped saddle does not fit a U-shaped horse. Grin. Good luck Jill. You are rowing my very same boat!!

what is the thickness of this pad?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The pad around the saddle area isn't thick but the material is spongy. Where the saddle area is it is cushy without adding to much height to a western saddle. I sue this pad with my Wintec synthetic western saddle and my horse has no back soreness afterwards. It was a very good purchase.
my horse has a boney back so i need a thick pad. how thick is the pad?
A shopper on Jul 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is a nice pad, but it is relatively thin. Our horse is broad and she was sore after the 2nd day of a long weekend ride. Most of the padding is on the side not the back. It's much easier to clean than wool pads, but I'd only recommend it for light riding, or with additional padding.
does it keep horses back from sweating in hot weather like a thick wool pad does?
A shopper on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a black one but it allows more air flow through instead of using the wool pads. I no longer use the wool pads during the summer as they are extremely hot for my horses.
I would like to order the lime green one-- but it says it is back ordered-- will it be available before Christmas 2015?
Alberta P on Dec 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We hope to have the green in stock after 12/15/15. Please keep in mind backorder in-stock dates are always estimated.
