Do not fit true to size!
I bought these for my 14.2 hand reiner. She is fine boned, and even though the small say they will fit a horse 14-15 hands, these DID NOT even come close to fitting her! Even when they were tightened down as much as possible they still slid right off her legs. Its too bad because these actually looked like decent quality for the price.

This product is average, but fairly priced.
These splint boots are inexpensive and functional, but the velcro straps are excessively long and unattractive.

It was exactly what I was looking for.
I needed splint boots to fit my mare and these fit perfectly. They are comfortable for her and have enough give for when she jumps, they stay put and don't rub. The size chart was accurate so no hassle of returning.

Amazing!
I bought this for my 15.3 hh fine boned Paintaloosa, and they are amazing. I have used them on many trails with deep snow, thick brush, water and all, and they have not damaged at all. Would recommend to anyone, and definitely buying another pair in the near future!

Amazingg
I bought a pair of these cheaper at a yearly tack exchanger, but I love them. I use them on my filly everytime i ride. The one's i bought are a little big, but they are durable and work very well.

sturdy boots
this boot is great for a horse that interferes up high, holds up well, easy and quick to put on, it does not cover under the fetlock well, so if your horse interferes low, these will not help, i just got a second pair, since my assistant left them on the door and one of the horses ate them, apparently they like them too for desert!

Mine are wearing out. My only regret is that you only carry the color black and many other sites have a variety of colors. I would have bought 2 pair if other colors were available.

I've used this splint boot before and have had them for a long time. Just needed new ones by now. They are easy to apply and do protect my horse's legs.

would these boots fit my stocky, 14 hh mare?

BEST ANSWER: The large size indicates the distance from the top to the bottom, not the width around. We have a 15H and a 15.2 hand Quarter horses and we use mediums I would think you would use that size also. They are a well made boot, able to hold up to wear and tear and able to be tightened down.
