very nice basic german martingale
I am a bit new to gymkhana but have ridden Hunt-seat for years. I took my trainers advice and bought the German martingale and it works a little like blinders in that it helps focus my 4 year old (who had never run patterns) and keeps her supple and listening to me. We surprised ourselves last week and did really well at the first show of the season. I will keep using it until I get to double A or until I am at least consistently placing near the top in A.

Teaches head set
Excellent tool to teach head set. Once taught, keep it handy for tune-ups.

leather german martinale
I use this with a headstall and kimberwick when working my horses young or old they learn very quickly and enjoy being comfortable when working. Use this with a halter bridle combo and it helps the horse learn to bridle easier. I love this and it really works. I hve over 42 years experience working horses.

My trainer insisted that I buy the Weaver Latigo style German martingale, as she said it's the absolute best to use on young reining horses.

How do you use a German martingale ?
Terrie V on Jul 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I had never used one before, someone told me to get it to help train a horse we bought. It keeps them from throwing their head, teaches them to neck rein and helps them learn use their shoulders and stop on their back. We used it for 3 months on our new horse and he worked great.
Is this appropriate size for a 16.2hand 1300 lbs Trekhner?
kim1amy on Apr 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This is an average horse size, however it is adjustable. If you would like some measurements I can get those for you.
