Decent enough bit but a couple of problems
This bit is decent enough but not among the best I've used in this style. With the cheeks being made of black steel instead of stainless, mine are beginning to rust pretty bad around the cheek joint. I have to keep it oiled or else it squeaks horribly and I am wondering how long it will even be mobile before it locks up completely due to rust.I much prefer the bits with the stainless steel cheeks. They last forever and never lose that smooth swivel motion.I've learned my lesson and won't be buying a bit like this again. I can find bits that are just as good or better that do have the stainless cheeks for a better price. On a good note, my horses did seem to like this bit, even if I really didn't.

Do you have wider bits?

BEST ANSWER: We do, but not for this particular one. You may wish to consider the Greg Darnall Loomis BS 1/2 Mouth Medium Port Bit (item E012398), or you can use the Search bar and type in the size desired, for example "bit 5.5" or "bit 5.25" or "bit 6."
