Product Summary:

Weaver Stacy Westfall D-Ring Twisted Wire Snaffle Bit

Antiqued steel ring bit features 5" twisted wire sweet iron mouth. 3 1/8" dees. Best used with an all leather curb strap to prevent the bit from pulling through the horse's mouth, offset dees are great bits for starting colts, training exercises, introducing a new riding discipline or for softening an older, more seasoned horse's mouth. Please note: Horses should never wear a bit when tied. Mouthpiece works independently of rings. Pressure points: bars, corners of mouth and tongue.

Features:

  • 5" twisted wire sweet iron mouth
  • 3 1/8" dees
  • Great bit for starting colts
  • Great for training exercises

Works Well
I've been looking for a twisted wire snaffle for awhile, and this is the closest thing I could find for what I was looking for, for a great price. I am happy with it, and will probably be buying more.

Expected better product
I have been surprised at how much the bit collects crusty stuff around the lips of my horse. I have had to file away goop so not to irritate my horses mouth. I guess for the price I should not expect this bit to perform as well as others maybe. I will definitely spend more next time and get a more usable piece of equipment.

Love It
Good bit. Not to harsh, but just enough bite to get a horses' attention when they are ignoring you.
