Easy attach/holds a lot
I have this bag from 8 years ago. Mine is a little different from the newer version, but I still recommend it. It holds all my “safety” items....hoof pick, emergency kit, duct tape, utility tool, rainjacket, sunscreen, etc, etc. The drink holders are great for easy access. You will probably have to replace the plastic bottles with either your water bottle itself or a better quality one as they do tend to leak and are a bit flimsy. It can be used on western or english saddles. I love this bag.

Great for Trails
Great saddle bags... I hate the big ones that flop around. The actual bag seems very well made. I tossed the cheap water bottles and replaced them with my RTIC 16oz water bottles & they fit perfectly. Now I can have cold drinks all day if needed. And it has quite a bit of storage.. enough for some snacks, poncho, lunch, etc. Good Buy!

This western cantle bag fits nicely on my wintec dressage saddle.
I have used my cantle bag only three times since I received it November 2016. So handy to have the bottle holders secures with a split Velcro strap. The bag has a double zipper. The two straps on the outside make it convenient for a jacket for weather change. Best of all it has fleece on the bottom so it doesn't rub your horse. Radar and I are happy on the trails. I recommend this product for English saddles. I'm not sure on durability but it has made it over 30 miles.

I love it.....sits perfectly on back of my saddle, great storage space, can carry 2 water bottles and a coat. The only suggestion I would have is to waterproof it. I was caught in a rain storm and everything inside got wet. So i sprayed it with waterproof spray and it is great now.thanks

It's so small that when it's on the saddle, the water bottles are lying flat.

I was looking for a bottle holder and saddle bags that would work on my English saddle with no D-rings. The long velcro straps connect around the billets and keep the bag in place. Worked great!
Well thought out design
The velcro straps hanging down in the picture, wrap around the large D rings on the saddle (cinch). This means the cantle bag stays taught during a lope, instead of flopping around like bags that use metal clips. I carry flip lid Thermos bottles instead of the cheap plastic bottles that it comes with. The bottles lay somewhat horizontally on horseback; but there are loops of velcro in each pocket to keep them secure.
Better than I thought it would be!
This bag is very roomy and will hold an emergency kit as well as snacks. The water bottle holders come with 2 bottles, and are very large which makes them a big PLUS for trail riding. The bag was a lot better than I expected, and was easily attached to my saddle.
Great for hard to fit saddles!
My goofy mare decided the the only saddle she likes is a cutback, and it doesn't have a single d-ring on it.. this cantle bag holds a jacket, a fair amount of food and supplies and two bottles of water, perfect for trail riding, and it secures to the girth or drings! Lifesaver!

Does this have a sleeve to hang on he seat of the saddle?

BEST ANSWER: I have an older version that I use with my english saddle. It has a sleeve but really, the sleeve does not affect how it attaches to the saddle. The long straps on the end have velcro and I put those under my saddle flaps and around my girth straps and reattach them to themselves with the velcro. They can also be tied. I ordered this for xmas 2017 for my friend and hers does not have the sleeve on it. She uses a western saddle. Hers only has one drink holder. Mine has one on each side which I love. I use one side for my water bottle and the other side I use for “quick access†bug spray! I have been using mine for about 7 -8 years!

Yes, but I will tell you that this cantle bag is very small. I returned mine because it was way too narrow to work with my western saddle, 15" seat. The description mentions it fitting a smaller horse, but I think it would be more accurate if it said fits a child's saddle.
It nhas a piece at the back that goes over the back of the saddle. I will say one of the straps on one of the water bottle holder bags came off and I have not figured out how to sew it back on. I don’t use this bag anymore. Decided I don’t care for it.
If you are using it on a western saddle it won't fit unless it is a kids saddle it is not wide enough. my saddle is 15 1/2 and I can not use it. I would send it back but it costs more than the item to return.
Yes it has sleeve that goes over the cantle and Velcro straps that attaches to billets. A very nice product. I go nowhere without it. Janet from Ohio

I went and purchased this and found that it does not necessarily fit a narrow horse at all. It fits behind the saddle I use on my Quarter Horse just fine. AND there is room for a sweatshirt in the zippered compartment. It is well thought out. When it came in the plastic bag I could see where someone thought it was for a narrow horse, however, you have to work with it and stretch it out. The water bottles do not hang straight down but rather at an angle on both sides. It works fine and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. What's the problem?

BEST ANSWER: I purchased this as well and found that it fit the back side of both my western saddle that fits my Quarter horse and behind my Peruvian saddle. Being new and being crammed in a small bag for a long time I did need to stretch it out a bit. I love it!! I'd prefer that the bottles did not hang at an angle because both my bottles leak however I'll just use store bought water bottles in the future. Well made an signed and well worth the money..
