perfect, except it needs to be a heavier, more durable fabric
I've had 2 bags, and the size and features are perfect: great price, roomy, great closure straps, a snap next to the grommet to attach to saddle ring and it has straps to attach to the flank cinch to keep it from flopping. The only drawback is that it isn't a heavy enough material, and rips easily. I have managed to repair some minor rips and tears, but on my last ride, the whole side and bottom split and I nearly lost the contents of my bag. (I wasn't even aware that it had snagged on anything) Love the bag, but wish it was tougher. They each lasted 2-4 years, but for the price, not bad.

Mixed Review
I purchased one of these about 7 years ago and REALLY liked it. I don't use it on every ride but felt like it was a good product at a good price. It was getting a little rough around the edges and I wanted a different color so I purchased another one about 2 months ago. I have used the second one twice. Once on a flat, clear all day trail ride down a converted rail road bed. The second time was the 4th of July, on a trail ride through the timber on a man made trail. Sometime during the first 3 hours of the ride, the right bag split out dumping the contains along the trail. We never found it. NOT HAPPY. This trail wasn't a knee knocker trail ride for me as my horse yields off leg pressure so I just don't understand why it would come apart.

I need five or six more of these!!
I have been looking in feed stores at $75 sets of saddle bags that were not quite what I wanted. This set has multiple buckles, grommets, and straps to secure it to the saddle. It holds a lot of stuff, and should last years of hard trail use.I plan to pick up a few more. Make one an emergency kit, and then a second one can be carried on my daughter's horse with lunch and sodas!

Great for all riders
I love how roomy these bags are and that the closures don't slide open. Of course, that makes them a little difficult to get into while riding, but that's not a big deal. I think the best part is that I can attach this to any style of english saddle and not worry about it slipping around or not sitting right by using the long straps to attach to the billets, so they stay out of the way and are secure.

Good for inexpensive extra saddle bag, but not your main one
The price was inexpensive, but the adage that you get what you pay for is born out here. I ended up buying another much more expensive saddlebag and found that the canvas weight, fasteners, shape and pretty much every feature was superior and for me worth the extra money. Decided not to send this one back as it would be okay on a day trip to lend to someone who needed saddlebags.

AMAZING SADDLE BAG!
I REALLY love this saddle bag...planning on getting a new 1 too! My horse loves and its a good fit on him. It does not rub and its PERFECT for picnics on a trail ride or just for a water bottle!!

For my granddaughter. So she can have more than one bottle of water with her plus anything else she needs. Also because it matches her saddle.

About how much can fit into the pockets? Like would I be able to fit a lunch into this?
Lauren on Jun 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are plenty big for a lunch. My problem is , I haven't figured out how to get them to attach to my saddles. If you have saddle string you can tie them, but there is no way to attach them.
