I understand that the cheek is 8 3/4" however the shank is from where the mouth piece is to the end of the piece and I'm interested in how long the shank is?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2015
Best Answer: I haven't used it yet, but I will measure it this weekend & get back to you. It's very attractive

Do the shanks rotate?
A shopper on Jun 13, 2016
Best Answer: They swival a little where the mouth piece/bit attaches, but the shanks don't move once you have it in your horses mouth, I have 3 of these bits, i use them on all 3 of my horses I absolutely love them, they are worth every penny!

Has anyone you this bit for barrel racing?
Charlene E on Oct 18, 2015
Best Answer: I have only used it for doing barrel patterns . My horse is not a barrel racer, just a runner that a regular bit couldn't control . It solved my problem instantly and I can now be very light on the reins and have a perfect gentleman . Hope this helps
