Product Summary:

Designed to fit under your saddle and over your horse’s withers to effectively redistribute the rider’s weight along your horse’s back. Remarkable results can be seen when you move your weight away from directly pushing down on your horse’s shoulders. Leads come more easily, increased blood flow, your horse tires less quickly, etc.

This felt pad enhancer is made from the finest, needled, “Absorber” felt and can hold up to four times its weight in moisture, yet it dries quickly and is easy to clean with soap and water. 1” thick felt on each side and comes with nylon placement straps.

Colors may vary.

Size: 11" L x 8 1/2" W on each side connected by 1-1/2" web straps

To help a saddle fit better
Tiffany J on Dec 11, 2017
It's perfect for those saddles that don't give quite enough clearance over the wither, but still fits great everywhere else. Allows it to balance out evenly across.

My horse lost weight and his saddle is close to his withers - making sure he is comfortable is just as important as my comfort.

I don't know. I have never used it.

This product had good reviews and it was what I was looking for as a wither pad. The price was excellent.

to take pressure of the withers and shoulders under a saddle that is too wide otherwise
Shelley P on May 23, 2014
Had a horse who was not well muscled behind his shoulders. Our Western saddle sat too low on him. This pad works great. Raises the saddle enough to give good clearance, and comfortable for the horse. Highly recommend.

My mare has high whithers, anticipate this will help in case the saddle I get isn't perfect for her.

Would this help for a mid wither horse built like a triangle narrow chest an wither wider as you move back? Haven't been able to ride my gelding as all my saddles pop up in back an slip forward.

BEST ANSWER: Hi - I am not exactly sure what you are asking, but it sounds like you are saying, "Would this help with a medium/mid withered horse that is built like a triangle. it has a narrow chest and wither, then is wider as you move back." Is that correct? I love our wither pad. I originally purchased it because my gelding is lower withered and higher in the butt, so when I am riding, I feel like I am pushed forward. The pad brings the saddle up more in the front and I am able to ride more comfortably. Also, I use it for my higher withered horse so that the saddle doesn't sit on his withers. It makes both of them much more comfortable. :) I hope that sort of helps you. :)
I have a western saddle that is a bit to wide at the withers, would this help even out the saddle so that it sits level?
Judy K on May 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You could try certainly less expensive than buying a new saddle. I bought it cause my mare does not have withers and my saddle would slide forward.
