Good For The Price!
Received this headstall last week and am impressed. I expected stiff, brittle leather but was very surprised to find that this headstall was very soft already. It is lighter than pictured, but it doesn't bother me, and it matches the color of the leather on my hackamore PERFECTLY.It is very big though, doesn't even fit my half draft on the smallest holes. But, I can always put more holes in it!Definitely a bargain for someone who needs something reliable, and it looks good too!

This head stall is great for all around. I use it on my quarter horse and welch pony. Had to punch in a few more holes for the welch, but it fits great. Very nice, versatile, and strong

Good for what you pay
Not the heaviest leather, but for the price it's a decent headstall. Horse is responding well to it...

Cheap
I bought this for the price, and got what I paid for. Leather is very poor quality and brittle. I oiled it heavily, and it got better, but quality is not good. I will probably use it on an older docile horse. You are going to put this on your horse's head, and it will be your sole means of control. Not safe in the long run, in my view. Spend a few dollars more and get something safe.

Simple
Its OK, Good for just trails or around the barn, Wish it was as dark as it is in the photo, this does not match my saddle as i had hoped. Also it is a bit big, will have to put extra holes in it to fit my babydoll head mare. was stiff, i oiled it and its a little darker and much more supple.

Color is a bit different
This is a decent headstall for the price. The leather is a bit stiff and not the best quality. The headstall was also closer to a light oil in color-- even with oiling its very light. A good trail headstall nonetheless.

Does it come with the rains?

BEST ANSWER: I bought this headstall several months ago. It is an OK headstall for the price. I wasn't thrilled with the inside look of the leather, but it is very servicable and you don't generally see the inside of the headstall. It does NOT come with reins.
