Great headstall for schooling and pleasure riding.
This headstall was exactly what I was looking for. It was not too stiff out of the box. Thick leather, except for the throat latch, and it has a cute design. I wanted a cheap headstall to use occasionally that wouldn't break on my right away. I normally ride english, so my western tack does not get used regularly. This headstall is great for switching out bits/bosals. Horse size may run a little small. It fits my mare but has way more holes to shorten it than lengthen it on her.

Supper Quality
The quality of the headstall was of real good material for the price. just wouldn't go through the bit ring . But would still recommend it for a good buy and quality.

Simple/Cheap/Works GREAT!
I needed a new headstall because well I keep getting bits and I am to lazy to take a different heastall off and have a bit without a headstall. So the solution is to just get bits and headstalls at the same time! This looks very nice and works great! For the price it cant be beat! One thing that needs to be noted is make sure to check how big the holes are on the bit before purchasing this. The original bit that I wanted it for the headstall didnt work with.

Awesome headstall, Awesome price.
I bought this headstall looking for a cheap headstall just to get away from the ones I currently have which drive me nuts! I just received it today and its gorgeous! It looks just as it does in the picture and all though it is a little stiff I just moved it around and played with it for a little while and it loosened up a little I have not yet put it on my horse but it was well worth the 20$ I paid for it!

Great for price
I bought this to start a colt in so my nice headstalls wouldn't get beat up if something happened. The leather is a bit stiff out of the box, but I just conditioned it with leather new and it's very nice and supple now. It was a very light oil color, and my conditioner darkened it a little bit, so if you're buying it and hoping to keep it light tan, you might not be able to oil or condition it. Wide range of adjustment and a good sturdy headstall that still looks very nice.

Love It
This is by far my favorite headstall I have ever had! It is quick and easy, looks great on my horse, the light leather matches my saddle, and best of all it fits all my horses...from my 17 hand tb to my 14.2 Qh. I also have not had any trouble with it not fitting any bits, I have 3 bits that I use the most and they all fit great!

Great Schooling Headstall
I just got this headstall, I really like it! It's not fancy, but it's pretty good quality leather (it was a little stiff, but just some condition and it turned out pretty nice). I like that's it's quick change for changing bits. My only draw back is that my tom thumb bit wouldn't fit. :P (I couldn't get cheek piece through the bridle part on the bit..) But I don't really care because I prefer snaffles.Sooo... All in all, a great headstall for the price!!!

How does it attach at the bit?
justmesuzanne on Oct 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's very easy to attach. Just know that the leather is 1/2" wide where it goes through the bit. I love these and use them a lot, but was Sad that a couple of my bits didn't fit.

That said, you loop the leather with the ring through the bit, then through the slot on the headstall, then put the leather strip through the ring. Very easy to use.
Are there reins to match the color of this headstall? Looking for the very light color.
Linda on Jun 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately we do not have reins specifically to match this headstall. It shows in the description as a russet color - please type russet rein in the Search bar to see if any of the results look promising.
