Love this bit! Wonderful and well made!
I love this bit! Very well made for the price. The shank and mouthpiece are no pinch because of the way it's made. It's my new go-to bit now. I love it because I can use it on my narrow mouthed 14 hand Quarter Horse and my big wide 15 hand Paint! I have multiple options with it also: I can use it as a snaffle or a curb bit. Totally recommend this bit! I am planning on getting another one soon also. ??

needed work but overall ok
First let me state overall quality first. It as listed by others a great value w quality material used but some finish needed to be done to make it 5stars.I noticed immediately that the bits floating tube that is used to attach to shanks are not finished during manufacturing and had very sharp edges which would be an issue. I had to take my dremmel tool with metal grinder to eliminate these sharp edges. I am suprised this was not done for all orher surfaces were polished. Could be oversight or lack of mfg process either way if you are not comfortable or do not have the resorces w this type of crafting maybe look elsewhere. Again this could be just my bit so be prepared to return or fix. On the flip side outside from the above it is an excellent overall product and material appears to be good.

Incredible product!
I ordered this bit a few weeks ago, and honestly was leery about the quality. When it arrived, I was SHOCKED. The quality is awesome! Great quality, sends clear signals, not pinchy, and nice short shanks. (Purchase is 2" shank is 3".) Perfect bit for transitioning a horse from a snaffle into a nice mild curb. You will be impressed with the craftsmanship of this bit, especially for this dynamite price!

Everyday bit

My horse hated this bit!
From the moment I put this bit in my horse's mouth, I realized it was going to be a problem. She could not keep her mouth still and was practically swallowing it. When I rode her with it she kept shaking her head and resisting. I think it was pinching her tongue and it has way too much action for her. My friend then loaned me the "SS Hinged Ported Roller Futurity Bit" and she did MUCH better with it. But I've decided to go ahead spend the money and buy a Mylar bit. I don't recommend this bit at all.

Nice Bit
I run barrels in this and my gelding responds great and really is comfortable with it. I've tried switching a couple times but I always come back to this. Also, just stated using this on another horse who I'm patterning for barrels and competes in poles and I have got great results with him in this bit as well. Well worth every penny x 100!!!

great bit
We tried this bit at the suggestion of a friend and it worked wonders. Our gelding was fighting his other snaffle and slinging his head. A few rides with this bit and he has stopped both. It is gentle on his mouth and easy going in.

I've tried other bits but the dogbone with sweet iron is what works best for us.

needed a soft but firm bit for a horse that has been sitting for a long time. Ive road in these for about three years ad never seen a horse fight or act out on one, gentle on the mouth but enough stop for most any horse

thought it would be a good comfort bit similar to the myler bit, also switching from a tom thumb.

I've used this bit on my mare for over a year now and she absolutely loves its! I tried it on my gelding too because he has a really sensitive mouth and tosses his head when you use a bit with lots of leverage. Him and my mare run great with this bit, I definitely reccomend it!

is this an actual dogbone bit like it says? or is it like the pic?
cassie h on Jul 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is an actual dog one. Works wonderfully on my horses. Very light and gives them a lot of relief from someone who is heavy in the rein or for a soft moth horse. My grandson (he's 5) uses it on my older mare and they get along great together when using this bit
Would you use the snaffle or the shank for barrel racing?
Cmduchess on Feb 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the horse and upon your hands. If your horse listens to your hands, and you have sensitive hands, a snaffle is okay--especially if you have an independent seat
Hi! Does this have good lateral flexion? Thank you!
