It feels very light weight and cheaply made. The port also looks a lot higher than the picture looks. I probably won't end up using it.

My new favorite bit!
This bit has so many good features to it. The mouth piece gives the horse tongue relief. The shanks make it difficult for a horse to mess with them. It has so much move-ability that you can pick up one rein and it does not move the whole mouthpiece. It's a perfect transitional bit for a horse going from a snaffle to a curb bit. It also is priced in a reasonable range but is of the quality of higher priced bits.

Good bit.
Excellent bit for my barrel racer daughter mare (5 years old) . Obeys easy and brake easily.

Favorite bit ever!
Love using this bit on many horses! Used to use a curb bit on my gelding but found he got bored easily, this one has the same shape but also the rioters which keep him entertained and wanting to behave!

Great bit, just doesn't fit
I love this bit. It's nice looking, well made, and I like how the shanks sweep back. It's jointed in the middle which is a nice feature since it allows the shanks to move individually. The roller is also a nice touch since it gives the horses something to do. Only thing was it didn't fit my mare. She is an average 15.2 hand paint and this is the first time I've found a bit that doesn't fit her. the purchases (part where you connect the bridle) were too narrow for her.

The mouthpiece hinges in the middle... great feature!
The shanks are curved back enough that horses don't try to play with them... big plus. The mouthpiece hinges in the middle under the roller so you can apply pressure on one side of the bit and have it move independently...great feature! The price is reasonable for such a great bit!

Sweet Iron Mouth
Hey Ya'll, sweet iron mouths are SUPPOSED to rust, its part of what makes them sweet and appealing to a horse. I'm ordering mine now. I like the leverage ratio with a hinge bit, looks like a good made roller.

Hurts horses mouth
I would never suggest getting this bit. It pinches and tears of the top layer of skin at the corner of my horses mouth.

I tried this bit on my horse today and she responded very well. Decided I wanted one of my own.

I like the way you can isolate one side of the mouth with this bit. Like the way it swivels in the middle.

Is there a bigger size?
A shopper on May 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know. I think this was a 5 inch normal size. Its made by Formay , which they don't put the brand name no some of these items, which would be nice.
How wide is this bit? On the mouthpiece I mean..
A shopper on Apr 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's about the same size as a normal snaffle. We use it on two horses, one a fox trotter, the other a walker. They both like it. The roller is not bulky if that is your concern.
I have bought this bit 2 times and both times it has broken and came apart from the roller with rust on the inside. Has anyone else had this trouble? My horse loves and responds very well to this bit, but when your out on a trail and the bit falls right out of her mouth, it's not good! Both times the bit was only about 8 months old.

BEST ANSWER: I love this bit as well, but have also had problems with it loosening where the roller connects on the mouthpiece. I have not had them come apart completely, but have put aside the ones that are comprmised.
