This is a good bit to use with rings to set a western pleasure horses head . The mouth piece is curved to fit their mouth perfect . Great bit.

Great Bit!
I love this bit so much! My mare is green broke, and gets so bored with a regular snaffle in her mouth. I got this one for her, and she loves the copper and she likes to play with it and keep herself occupied, but focused. She is more agile, collects better and is learning to be more sensitive to my cues. The regular snaffle she would fight, and toss her head. She maintains such better behavior and concentration with this one.I recommend this bit to riders with bored horses. She is not the first horse I have used this bit on either.I do not recommend this bit to novice equestrians. A lot of pulling on the horse's mouth and over tightening with the bridle can scar the horse's mouth. You need to have an understanding of what makes a bit work, and how it will effect your horse.

Great bit
All my horses love this bit. Very good contact with their mouths. I have a 1D barrel horse and this actually his competition bit, he is a very finicky horse but loves it!

Amazing!
My horse just wasn't listening to the snaffle over jumps. This fixed him right up! Not to rough, not to soft. It's amazing and has turned my horse into a different horse over the jumps. He liked to swerve either away from the jump, or toward the gate. I also had problems keeping him calm and slow on cold mornings. Now, he listens great!

Great for Suppling!
I love this bit for suppling. I ride all my horses in it about once a week just to keep them soft. I also bit-up my horses and push them in the round pen in this twisted snaffle frequently. Great for bitting-up on each the side, between their front legs, and to their tail. Love it!

Great all around bit!
This bit is perfect for any horse. In the right hands, it is no more harsh than any other type of bit. I was able to ride my 13 year old ex-racehorse in it, who was completely relaxed and never did anything wrong (I liked to have the control there if needed, because he was an ex-racer and I wanted to make sure I could stop him if he got out of control with running when I first got him.) He loved the bit, and took to it perfectly. I could also ride my spirited, speed crazy Quarter Horse with it, and it's the only bit she respects. In the right hands, this bit is so versatile! I highly recommend it to anyone who has soft hands and a horse that needs a bit more control than the average horse, or for someone who wants the control to be there if needed. I also like to start horses in this bit, because again, the control is there if needed, but if it's not needed, this bit can function like any other snaffle bit.

is this a pony bit if so how wide is the twisted wire?
A shopper on Oct 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It can be used for a large pony as the bit is 5 inches. The twisted copper is medium thin and the copper makes the horse enjoy having it in its mouth. They salivate more, keeping the mouth moist and comfortable. My Morgan mare is about 14hh and this bit fits her perfectly and she responds well to it. The "O" rings are large enough to create leverage without being too severe.
is mouth part where its twisted bent?
A shopper on Jul 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No i never saw it bent
I need a bit to fit a Shetland pony boys are to big mini bits are to small what would be a good size?
A shopper on Mar 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Please measure the pony's mouth to get an idea of bit size. One way is to make a mark on a plastic drinking straw, insert it at the same place the bit rests with the mark against one corner of the mouth, make a mark at the other corner, then measure the distance between them and add 1/2" to get the approximate bit size.
Hi, can you tell me the colour and size in inches of the rings please?
Jacqueline B on Apr 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 5" wide twisted copper wire and 3" stainless steel flat rings. Color is as pictured
