have an older model of this
My used one of this similar type has held up well. When I got it used, it was probably at least 10 years old and showed little signs of wear. The flocking was in great shape. I have used the saddle for several times a week for up to 3 hrs. at a time. My teen daughter finds the saddle comfortable as-is, but I need a gel pad to ride it. I stuffed some extra padding under this made of waffle weave neoprene shelf liner. This really made it a more secure, comfortable seat. It is a bit too narrow of a twist up front for a woman, but it is hard to find a saddle that isn't. The girths were set too far back for my mare, and this tends to cause the saddle to ride fwd. A stabilizing girth near the front would make a great addition and option for horses like mine. If your horse has a short back, like my 13.2 Icelandic, you might struggle to make this fit within the space you have on the horse-- might be good to go with a smaller size saddle, as many people find Wintecs run at least 1/2" larger than other saddles. The saddle shouldn't go past the last rib in the back, where the hair changes directions. We love the saddle enough that we paid to get the tree repaired rather than throw it away when the horse took a fall and cracked it. The Wintec repairman told me that it is very rare for one of the Elastiflex trees to crack.

Great Saddle
I have used this saddle for over 10 months on my Standardbred mare. Great Balanced seat, keeps your legs in position. I have used it in lessons and on trail. Easy to clean and the new gullet system is easy to change from one horse to the next. Very durable and comfortable. Highly recomend it to a begginer rider, or children since it is easy to care for.

What is a flocked saddle?
Droper on Mar 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: A flocked saddle has wool or synthetic wool stuffing inside the panels which rest along the horse's back. Wintec's other type of panels, the CAIR system, uses patented air chambers instead.
How does this saddle fit typical arabs?
Stacy H on Apr 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately this is not a question we are able to answer. We can advise this saddle comes with a medium tree.
