Farnam(R) SimpliFly(R) With LarvaStop™ SimpliFly(R) with LarvaStop™ is a highly palatable feed additive that prevents formation of fly larvae in treated manure. LarvaStop™ breaks the fly lifecycle by preventing the formation of fly larvae's exoskeletons when they molt, resulting in their death. The alfalfa-scented pellets are easily fed and economical to use, and only need to be administered during fly season. Because the dosage is designated by weight, it can be given to any horses from minis to draft. A reduced risk pesticide, it contains no organophosphates and can be used as part of an integrated pest management program. This product should be fed top dressed on grain or mixed with the horse's total ration to provide 6.8mg of diflubenzuron per 100 lb. of body weight. For an occasional finicky eater who does not accept new feeds readily, mix this product with sweet feed or grain ration. Start feeding early in the spring before flies begin to appear and continue feeding throughout the summer and into the fall until cold weather restricts fly activity. This product contains an insect growth regulator that prevents the development of house flies and stable flies in the manure of treated horses, but is not effective against existing adult flies. In some cases, supplemental fly control measures may be needed in and around paddocks and buildings to control adult house and stable flies that can breed in other decaying vegetable matter or silage on premises, or that migrate in from other areas. SimpliFly™ with LarvaStop™ should be used as part of an integrated pest management program aimed at reducing fly populations in the horse's environment. In order to achieve optimum fly control, this product should be used in conjunction with other premise and on-animal products as well as good management and sanitation practices. SOLITUDE(R) IGR Insect Growth Regulator Feed-Through Fly Preventive by Zoetis, formerly Pfizer You can substantially reduce your fly population simply by adding a scoop of SOLITUDE(R) IGR daily to your horse's feed. Regardless of the farms around you, it will reduce flies at your barn. Use it during fly season to eliminate larvae development. It's economical to use, and safe for other pets that might also be eating your horse's manure. SOLITUDE(R) IGR (cyromazine) is a non-organophosphate that has been safely used in horses since 2001 and undergone extensive research to prove its effectiveness and safety. It provides feed-through fly prevention and control of house and stable flies in and around horses, horse barns, stables, paddocks, and race tracks. When mixed into a horse's ration daily according to the directions, it works to prevent house and stable fly development. Significant results may be observed within two weeks, but the full benefit should be realized within four to six weeks of administration as the adult populations die off. Cyromazine, the active ingredient in SOLITUDE(R) IGR, has a well-documented safety and efficacy profile, It is an insect growth regulator that works on the fly's chitin exoskeleton and is very species-specific to house and stable flies. As the horse is fed cyromazine, it passes through the horse and is excreted in the manure. House flies and stable flies lay their eggs in the manure and the eggs subsequently hatch into the larval or maggot stage. As the maturing maggots feed on the treated manure, they become unable to successfully develop into adult flies because cyromazine inhibits the proper formation of chitin. The immature stage of the fly dies. Cyromazine has no effect on the chitin of the adult fly. Make sure spray has completely dried before covering with any tack. For initial treatment, apply daily for 2-3 days. As infestation subsides, repeat treatment every 5-10 days, or as prescribed by a veterinarian. Also reapply every time animal is washed or exposed to heavy rain. Dogs : Cover animal's eyes with hands. With a firm stroke to get a proper spray mist, spray head, ears and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face around mouth, nose and eyes.
