My mare wouldn?t drink out of her old drinker. She took to this one after a little coaxing. I love that it is so easy to keep clean.

Very sturdy and cost effective
I run a commercial boarding facility and these by far are the sturdiest and most economical for the money. The brass valve helps immensely

Great product
We ordered these auto waterers to replace an identical, non coated model. The finish on the new waterer is far superior to what we had before. But, even bearing that in mind the old units were 20 years old. That is a great product that has held up to continuous use by our horses over 2 decades! We highly recommend this product.

Why did you choose this?

Convenience

I needed a waterer

Because it is a good thing

Because I think it is a great product

How much water do they hold?

This waterer can hold up to 2 quarts.

Where can I order a replacment valve and float for item SLT700548? I need 13 of them.

You may wish to check and see if your local hardware may have the valves to assist you. You may also wish to reach out to the manufacture for replacement parts Jacks Tack /JT International.

What is this drinker made of please?
Is the float plastic?

Yes the float is plastic but it seems quite substantial. The drinker is metal but has a great coating so that it won't rust and has a smooth surface for the horses to drink from. My old metal waterers rusted and the surface that held the water became quite corroded. I am very pleased with the quality of these drinkers.

This waterer is metal or plastic?

The water bowl is all metal and water connection is brass. Some parts inside are plastic but top to bottom it is a excellent product.

Where can you buy the hose that connects to it? I have tried two differnt types and they still leak.

I did go to the hardware store and get an adaptor from 3/4" garden hose to 1/2" FIP. I then used Teflon tape (pipe thread sealant)on all connections as well as a fresh garden hose rubber gasket.

Mine is sitting on the ground for dogs and I need to build a bracket to keep water coming out of the overflow as the dogs knock it off balance at times. I will then tighten all connects with wrenches as tight as I can as well and if needed switch to a paste type thread sealant.

More on this after I adjust.

How would you heat them for winter?

I don't have a good answer. I live in Florida and have never needed to worry about freezing. When I lived in Colorado, I didn't use them. I used a bigger tank with a floating heater, and I put them in each stall. I wrapped the supply water line in heat cord. I never had a problem that way.
