The half cheek design of this bit assists in the placement of the bit in the mouth and prevents the bit from sliding through the mouth. The Dr Bristol mouthpiece reduces the nutcracker effect found in a single jointed bit, while the flat plate design applies more pressure to the tongue and is a good choice for strong horses.
