The primary function of the Reinsman Snake River bit is to encourage a young horse graduating from a snaffle bit to break at the poll. The unique shape of the shank allows for immediate release when the horse collects and softens into the bridle. The shape and gag of the shank also promote lifting the horses shoulders and the ability to cue the horse with a delayed reaction without slowing the horses feet down during competition. The 480 is ideal for a stronger horse that needs the added bite of a twisted wire and the roundness of the dogbone mouthpiece.
