dose it work as anyother rope halter?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2015
Best Answer: You are not specific as to does it work? Are you asking about training to pressure and release? If so I recommend a stiff rope halter with knots on the noseband. A solid noseband like this will put pressure on the entire surface of the nose and in the wrong hands could damage the cartilage in the nose, much like kellies did in the 60's when they first came out (this was a narrow wire style hackamore). Before using any training device, the handler should be educated and hopefully have some experience. As an everyday halter this one works fine, but avoid the temptation to jerk and use to much pressure. Hope this is helpful.

Would this fit my 1200lbs Quarter horse?
Norma Jean W on Aug 7, 2015
Best Answer: Probably not, or if it does, probably barely - this halter is average size, for horses approximately 800-1100 lbs. You may wish to consider the Fabtron Cotton Rope Halter (item E010885). That halter is available in both average and large (approx. 1100-1500 lbs) sizes.

Is the lead long. And is the halter and lead stiff?
Shades on Jul 26, 2016
Best Answer: I remember buying a pink halter like this as a gift for one of my students. The noseband is stiff, and the rest of the halter is reasonable. The lead is sufficient but I would not say exceptionally long and there is no snap, but you can add one. I have stiffer leads but this one is OK. For training I use a very stiff halter and lead that I bought long time ago from Clinton Anderson, unfortunately he does not have them anymore. It has been serviceable although the color has faded. It's a good deal for the price and good for an everyday halter & lead. Over all I have been happy with the items and prices from here. Hope this helps

Does this fit a pony? We have one that is approximately 300 pounds, and another that is approximately 500 pounds.
A shopper on Jul 6, 2015
Best Answer: We use ours on a 900 lb cob horse who has a large head. I don't think it would be suitable for a small pony. I recommend getting a pony size.

Do y'all sell sizes for draft horses?
A shopper on Dec 8, 2014
Best Answer: We do sell a few draft horse sized halters unfortunately this particular item does not offer that size.
