Great supplement for all ages
This is a great vitamin supplement for horses of all age I give it to my 17 year old paint and my 7 year old paint I use it as a supplement to keep my horses up to par on their vitamin levels which is important to eliminate the possibility of muscle tie ups after strenuous atrocities.

vet recommended Red Cell for a low red count
I purchased Red Cell on the recommendation of my vet for a horse with a low red count. He hates it but I syringe the amount into his mouth daily. I am getting better at not wearing most of it and he is getting better at holding it in his mouth before spitting it out. It does seem to be helping his overall well being. I do understand many horses will eat it with their grain as a top dressing. This picky horse would starve to death first. After several days of administering this product I have noticed an increase in energy.

Helps Mineral Imbalance
My gelding was literally trying to eat his mineral block several times a day even though he is being fed a "nutritionally balanced" feed twice daily. Obviously, there was something missing in his feed. I began adding this product to his feed twice daily, and the chewing on the mineral block was minimized within a couple of days. He now only licks at it occasionally. This product apparently supplied whatever it was that was missing from his feed.

Try this one FIRST!
Tried and true. If the subject horse seems unthrifty or has failure to thrive, try this first; you may well need no other supplement.I tend to bring home train wrecks, and enjoy the restoration project! Now if I just had one that would be put to a cart...B

Excellent Supplement
After using Red Cell my mares are so shinny that they look like mirrors. They are the picture of health. I also feed it to my foals. All lick their buckets clean. I mix it with their grain.

Amazing!
This stuff is amazing!! My mare had a seizure a while back and we immediately called the vet. He told us she had low red blood cells. I give her four tablespoons a day of this and the wonders it does! She put weight on FAST. She has the energy to work again! LOVE it!!

I have a gelding in his mid-20's who consistently "eats" his mineral block regardless of what brand of food that I feed him. This is indicative of a mineral deficiency of some sort. When using this product, the "eating" of the mineral stops immediately.

a must for any horse owner or any other animal for that matter. This is my multivitamin for my horses. Been using this product for over a decade and will only use this. Great mixed in with a some alfalfa pellets and horses recieve all the vitamins needed without the added cost of pelletted feed sups. Cheaper wasy of getting what they need.

can humans take this is it safe?
A shopper on Jun 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It says not too but I have been told by cowboys who take a shot of it every day that they swear by it.
How long will 1 bottle last, for one horse?
Alan K on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It actually depends upon how much you give your horse and how many times you give it to him or her. You can easily calculate how long a bottle will last by first dividing the dosage (ie how many mls you use) by the total mls in the bottle. That will give you how many doses are in a bottle which should relate to how many days if you use one dose a day etc.
Is red cell safe for humans?

BEST ANSWER: No.
Does Red Cell come in any other flavors that are more palatable to a horse? It's a great product, but my horse hates the taste of it.
Sharon G on Oct 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I’ve been using Red Cell since 1998 and as far as I know, it only comes in one flavor. My horses only need the smallest recommended dose, so l just mix it well with the grain. No one has ever seemed to have objected to their food because of the Red Cell.
How much red cell in a dose for a ruminant animal?
Kim H on Dec 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My vet told me to dose my goats at the same rate by weight as horses. The recommended dosage for a horse is 30 to 60 ML daily. Assume the horse weighs 1,000 to 1,200 lbs. Adjust that dosage for the weight of the goat. Hope that helps.
how long does it take red cell to have an effect?
A shopper on May 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As with everything horse, it depends. If a horse hasn't been getting enough vitamins you see a difference in 3 or 4 days. If you're replacing a multi vitamin with iron, they do great on this. I've been using it with my racehorses for 20 years. They can get a little jacked up if you give too much.

Is this suitable for sand colic?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You need to buy SAND CLEAR which is a psyllium husk product. SAND CLEAR binds with the sand particles and helps the horse to eliminate the sand in his/her gut.
SAND CLEAR is one name product but there are more products that are psyllium based.

RED CELL is what it's name says...for building up the horse's blood count of red blood cells.

Sand colic is a very serious condition and can kill a horse. You should be seeking professional advice about that if your horse is showing symptoms of sand colic...!
Is there enough vitamin E (daily %) in this for a horse that is low or deficient in E? (due to being boarded with no pasture)
Kat S on Apr 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: At 500 IU, probably not. Your veterinarian may recommend a straight vitamin E supplement if your horse is low or deficient.
Are you giving a rainchecjk for this out of stock Item?
