My horse hated it.
My horse loves to be groomed but got very agitated when I used this product on her. Tried it twice but gave up using it. Too bad I brought 2 of them.

Does a great job to start. As it starts to accumulate dirt and hair it works less effectively. Could very easily scrape off to get an used portion, but for that amount of work, I'd prefer to pluck hair out of the curry comb. Not bad. Not great. Just meh.

The Best
Good price nice qualityI love this. The winter coat comes off so easily. One of these will last one horse one shedding season because it wears down as you brush. It's an interesting material but leaves the coat shiny, sleek, and clean.

Very handy product
This Slick 'n Easy grooming blocks works great. My black and white Walker gets grass stains and this easily removes them. It also gets the dirt off of him quickly. I use it at home and always have one in the trailer when we go camping.

Makes Shedding Easier
Love this product! It makes shedding your horse out so much easier. Pulls the extra hair away so easy ! My little granddaughter even uses it on our smaller qtr horse . Fits her smaller hands just perfect . After using I do bathe my horse and use a conditioner on his coat. Not at all necessary just my routine !

Amazing for shedding
These are the best for shedding. I can get so much hair off earlier in the season and with minimal effort. And they leave their coats so shiny and soft! I do ho through them fast though. Wish they would last a little longer but they are so inexspensive I just order a bunch at one time.

Product does work and is reasonably priced.
Problem with it is the hair flies everywhere unlike when using a curry comb where the hair is trapped and you can release it downwind from you! I was covered in hair after using this for about 10 minutes. The product also has a very offensive odor. Not sure why. And it does wear down pretty quickly. It's also a little more labor intensive than using a shedding blade or curry comb.

I use these every shedding season
This grooming block has completely transformed shedding season for me. By far, this is the most effective de-shedding device I have used over the years. Short, sharp strokes remove loose hair in clumps and my mare really seems to enjoy it. You have to be careful to not get too vigorous with it, though, because they break quite easily. They will also wear out with use and lose the sharp edges that make it effective, but it is cheap enough that you can buy several.

My 25 year old gelding was tested for cushings due to not shedding all the way this year - but was negative - so I wanted to try this based on feedback and I LOVE IT! I have known about it for years and did not believe it would ever work and it does!

This is the coolest thing I've found in a long time. I have to shave my donkey down every spring because her coat is so thick it takes forever to shed off. These Slick n Easys take the rest of the hair off easily and she likes for me to use it on her.

A friend at my barn uses one and I couldn't believe how effective it is at getting out loose hair. And she paid 4.99.

I initially bought this in hopes of removing bot eggs in addition to the normal grooming function. Turns out it doesn't remove the bot eggs very well but does help shine up the horse's coat.

They are a great tool to help with shedding. It's also very muddy now and it helps move the oil up to the top of their coat to help see that nice coat!

Does it work? How do you use it?
A shopper on Apr 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've been using this grooming block for several years; it works very well to remove shedding horse hair. You just rub it on the coat and because the block is porous, it removes the loose hair (without hurting the horse, in fact they appear to like it). When the pores get "flattened" (for lack of a better description), you just rub the edges of the block against pipe corral or some other hard surface to provide a fresh surface. Eventually the block wears down during this process until it's so small, you need to use a new one. But they last a good long while and are a reasonable cost. I will continue to use.
Is this grooming block good for thick winter coats when its time to shed?
Amnesty S on Mar 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Quick answer is yes. I generally use a shedding blade to get a first bunch of hair and mud off, then use a rubber curry to massage the skin and get the oils to the hair for shine, then the SlickNEasy to really get the loose hair out, then conditioner that I brush the coat with. For a faster groom, you can use the SlickNEasy alone, but dried mud will tend to eat away at the brick if you haven't removed it with the shedding blade.
